I know its tedious, but if the EA admins are not able to help you out by fixing this directly, then this is the longer but in principle working work-around to get to the end result that you want: That your old soldier stays intact in BF4, and not linked to any platoon:
1. Create a new solider in BF4.
2. Use your old soldier profile to promote your new soldier to be co-founder of the platoon.
3. Use your new soldier to denote your old soldier in the platoon.
4. Your old soldier should now be be able to leave the platoon.
5. Go back into battlelog and delete your new soldier (if you even care to do this, as you can just disbanding the new soldier all together)

It seems it has been fixed. The unknown player suddenly got a proper name and a profile and I was able to kick him. I just disbanded the platoon 🙂
