I have the same thing happening to me every other week since the forced migration to EA APP (RIP Origin)
How I solve my problem since then:
go here: c:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\
start the EAdesktop.exe ---- NOT THE EALAUNCHER.EXE ! (it's the same UI and stuff... don't ask me)
start game - done.
