go to /Electronic Arts\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc\vc2012Updates\redist and reinstall vcredist_X64 if you have a 64bits pc or vcredist_86 is you dont. It fixes it for me
I had the same issue. I decided to change the game run options in origin after the recent patch. I selected it to only run the 64bit application. This is when I encountered the problem. I switched the game properties back to present all options and I was able to access the game successfully again.

thank you this worked for me i think i was running the 64x and i instead selected the 86 and now opens without error but i have the same error for my other game "Need for Speed" i will try to fix that later though. This started happening when i updated to windows 10.
