Can't play multiplayer at all, matchmaking fails

I recently tried playing Battlefield 4 multiplayer but I just can't seem to join any game and quick matchmaking gives me a matchmaking failed error. I tried the server browser and found some severs with people on them but as soon as I join the server and my game starts, there's no one in that server! I'm the only player and just 2 mins ago the server browser showed 40 people playing. I tried 3 different servers, first two times I didn't get any players and the last time I tried I got in a game that showed about 4 players when I pressed tab but their names were all greyed out and there was no one on the server. The ticket counter was active, I could capture flags and everything, there were just no players at all.
TL;DR my game seems to have a bug where I'm not visible to other players and vice versa. I can join servers only through server browser, matchmaking always fails. I only get empty servers even though server browser shows 40 people playing just 2 mins ago. Please help!
