Choppers useless survival

In BF3 when I killed a chopper with a tank or RPG it was the most incredible thing ever. In BF4, I have lost count of how many I've killed with tanks, smaws, sraws, rpgs, ground based, flips, oh and the new ANTI-(fing)-Heli mines.
What on earth? I can't survive in these things any more. I WANT to play chopper, but it's just not fun any more. It's like a game where "forget the troops, lets shoot choppers down because we can!" Only two real suggestions that would fix the chopper in the new environment is either reduce flare reload times, or add them to gunner abilities. Like Matimi0 says, we can't even survive hit-and-run scenarios.
