Client crash on Tashgar
I am playing the campaign mode and My client crashes when the story goes to the Dam, I can restart the level and play up to the part where you hop in the transport and drive up to the Dam but then th...
I am in the same boat. I just end up in a crashing loop on the Tashgar bridger and there is nothing I can do about. Are there any updates as to why this might be happening?
Hey guys – I had this problem as well and was able to fix it.
This could be related to many different factors. As far as I have seen it could be:
Game save is corrupted
If this is the case then jus try to restart the mission from the begining, otherwise it will continue to crash your game "Battlefield 4 has stopped working"
Drivers are not up to date
It usually goes without saying but make sure your graphic drivers are up to date. If you are an nVidia user I strongly recommende using GeForce Experience for your updates.
Windows Updates are pending
Hopefully you are a great guy/girl and are using an official version of windows and you can perform a complete update
DirectX and Microsoft Redistributable 2012 (x64)/(x86) needs to be repaired
If the game is installed you can find the files in the _Installer folder of your game
For DirectX udpate/repair (by default folder - it can be different if you chose to install the game somewhere else)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist
Double click on DXSETUP.exe in the folder
For Microsoft Redistributable 2012 (x64)/(x86) udpate/repair (by default folder - it can be different if you chose to install the game somewhere else)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist
Double click on vcredist_x64.exe in the folder (if you are using a 64 bits system, if not use the x86 file)
If the game is not installed or you can't find your game folder you can still use the following links:
Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3
DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer
Once everthing is done and verified, try again the mission from the begining. To be on the safe side use Fullscreen mode, Auto Graphics option and deactivate VSync.
Hope this helps! Let me know
I did all of of it. Drivers are up to date, DX & Redist reinstalled, game repaired, retried missson.
Nothing worked. Still freezes/forces closes once the level is ready to load. This stinks.
I too played the mission twice up to this point. Pretty much a showstopper I'd say! Got the latest drivers and BF4 update (today). 32 & 64-bit, V-sync, auto etc. No fix there.
It seems if you die at the dam (after the helicopter), and try to load the checkpoint, the game always crashes. After game restart, it plays the beginning cinematic again, and crashes half way in. Should it be playing the cinematic at this point? Most likely some fancy corrupted save data.
