Connection & Freeze issues
I have 2 main complaints regarding extremely annoying MP issues:
1) The "you have lost connection to the session" error. When I start up the game and go to multiplayer immediately, I can join an online game without any problem. As long as I stay on the server I can play continuous rounds. However, as soon as I take a break between rounds, quit the server and try to reconnect through "quick match" at a later stage, I keep getting this error and can't connect to any online game anymore. This also happens when I start up the game and have a look at -for instance- battlelog first. Then, when I go back and try to connect to a MP game I can't connect anymore and keep getting the same error message. The only way to join an online game fromt that point is to reboot the game. Deeply frustrating. It almost seems that, when I connect to an BF4 server, I receive a one-time only lease that expires as soon as I press the back button on my controller. After that I can't get a new lease from any of the the servers within the same "session" until I quit the entire game and start all over.
2) Game freezes. For no apparent reason, the game will freeze halfway through a round, locking both the game AND my PS3. No specific class as far as I can tell, but it seems to happen mostly on the floodzone map in my case. Turning off the PS3 completely is the only way to get out of this, resulting in a mandatory file rebuild once the PS3 has rebooted.
Please note that I have tried every possible solution and workaround offered, including port forwarding. I have also spent many hours reading forums, message boards and so on and it seems there are many people experiencing the same or similar issues. Therefore I am inclined to believe that this is a problem with either the game itself or with the EA servers. Today's game update didn't seem to fix anything with regards to the problems mentioned above.
Please let me know what is happening and if there is a solution upcoming. I have been a huge Battlefield fan since the very first instalment on PC and am trying not to have my fun ruined by frustration but it is becoming increasingly difficult.
Kind regards,
Michael Christiaanse
