Have you tried searching for Matches using Server Browser instead of Quickmatching?
Could be a solution to this problem you're having.

I’ve been having the same issue. Tried joining 8 times to empty games. Not fun and a waste of time.I see your point.
But, it also depends on the Game Mode, and how many people are playing that game mode.
Sometimes its easier to search something in Server Browser, rather than Quickmatch three, four, five times trying to find a full server.
It's quicker to use Server Browser for a mode that you know not a whole lot of people play, or if you're curious how many people are playing at the moment.
It doesn't necessarily take over the Quickmatch function, it just helps in trying to find matches.
- @iluminatethesky Then why have the quickmatch function if it's useless then? It shouldn't even be a thing that it connects you to lobbies that have 1 player in it. What a horrible system that is. Apes could make a better match making system.
Same problem here. Looks like ea have killed any chance of playing a game that isn’t conquest. It takes me 30 mins to get a game and BF1 is now a mess. Worked well until recently. Definitely my last ea title sadly. Call of duty is half the game that BF1 is but it doesn’t work properly. Just tried quick match and it takes 5 minutes to join a match. Not my connection either

Have you tried using Server Browser, or just Quickmatch?
Conquest seems to be the most popular Game Mode in Battlefield, which is why its very simple to find matches.
Modes like Rush, TDM, Operations, etc don't tend to be so popular, so it might take longer to find matches.
However, all these game modes are in Server Browser, so if you're getting put in empty lobbies, try that.

I tried both options. The server browser seems to throw up patchy results. I couldnt find a single game of rush. I gave up in the end. I shouldn't have to spend so long trying to play a game, Put call of duty in and straight into a game. Must me something they have done recently as i never used to have any issues. I might drop back in a few weeks. Thanks for the response
- ApprovedExcept every time I go to a server they have appalling internet connection that makes my latancy 250 I have 300 mbs upload and download why do I have to use some 8 mbs internet server
