DirectX crash after upgrading Windows

Ok so few weeks ago i upgraded my windows 7 to win 10 T preview and i had issues with battlefield 4, 3, and Medal of honor wf.

These games were crashing after few minutes of gameplay with directX error (device hung or something)

so i reverted back to windows 7 and the crashing stopped completely.

Now i installed full version of windows 10 pro x64 and the problem is back.

Seems like windows 10 directx 12 is corrupt or something but i cant uninstall it so it causes these crashes.

All other games work fine its just the origin ones that crash.

I tried reinstalling both games and drivers but nothing fixed it.

also tried downlocking card, messing with documents folder, pretty much every fix i could find on internet and still no luck.

I would really appreciate any info on this. If there is no fix in sight i shall just get my good ol win7 back.

  • I also forgot to mention that i did a game repair in origin 2 times in a row just in case. Not a single crash today.

Will post tomorrow after pc restarts. If it doesnt crash then we might have a fix.

  • Well this is total bull*... Game is crashing after 5 min again now. I get direct3d error. I even once got 2 directX errors at the same time... The 2nde error said that my graphics card was physically removed from it's slot?! I have 2 gfeorce GTX 780 in SLI.

I did some further internet searching, and I played around with the windows10 pagefile but no luck. I then lowered the overall graphics settings of the game because somebody suggested that using the 'NVidia optimized settings' which set everything to ultra might cause the crash? Something to do with post processing on ultra causing crashes, so I lowered that but still no luck.

I'm running out of ideas here... the crazy thing is that I have been using these NVidia GeForce experience optimizes settings for months (in windows 8.1) and I have never had this issue...

  • Disable SLI for the time being, that's what I had to do and I haven't had any issues.
