Forum Discussion
Hello friends,
I have this issue as well and since EA is not replying to this known issue I though to gather some information in the meanwhile myself.
So, I went to the Nvidia live chat and talked to a very friendly advisor and explained / showed him the error.
His reply was this: We get this type of error every single EA release and we had it with every Battlefield release, including Battlefield One.
He told me that the Directx error needs to be fixed by EA and Nvidia as well as all the players affected by this issue are waiting for a patch with fixes to the known problems.
Unfortunately there is no given date when we will get a patch with those solutions included.
But, in the meanwhile I went through forums and found the following that helped for people as a temporary fix:
- Instead of full screen mode, try windowed mode (Option in BF1 settings).
- Open up Origin, Settings, Origin In Game, and turn that option off called 'Origin in-game'.
- Go to Directx website and try to update Directx.
- Get the latest graphics card drivers.
- Get the latest Windows updates.
- Go to Advanced System Settings, Advanced, under performance click 'options', click advanced again, when u see 'Virtual memory' click on 'modify' and select 'size is managed by the system', click 'ok' and restart your system.
So, there are all the temporary things I have found by reading forums and figuring things out myself. You can give them a go, maybe something will work for you. If not, you'll need to wait until there is a fix for this problem.

I hope this has helped some of you, good luck! 🤔
Tried the solutions, thanks but it's not helping me.
Starting to lose faith, I really love this game (Lvl 55) but the crashing is doing my head in...
