There's a buttload of solutions to that error message for BF3 here in Answers HQ. For it appearing in the BF4 beta: Chillax and:
Welcome to the Battlefield 4 Beta Madness!
The beta is now in it's first stages and a lot will happen. ONE thing that will sadly not happen is that everything will go smooth. It's a beta, it's designed to find weak points and bugs so the launch of the real game will go smooth. You cannot expect a beta go smooth and everything to work, even if you payed extra to be in the beta.
You can expect all kind of problems like, beta not appearing, downloading, installing or starting. Servers, Battlelog, Origin etc. might also go down or be unstable.
Now, what you can do is:
-Wait! No reason to post questions about things not working if 1000 others have already done so.
-Search for solutions (using the handy dandy searchfields) on Battlelog and AnswersHQ (trust me, 2000 people had this problem before you did 😉 )
-Look at Twitter, Facebook, Google+. Battlelog and AnswersHQ for status updates from Battlefield
-Wait for EA and Dice people to identify and fix the problems as they occour
-Look at similar BF3 problems - it's the same engine, many solutions will be the same.
-Chillax, all good things come to those who wait 🙂
-Realise that you are not directly contacting EA, if you wanted to contact EA, even after reading all this and also knowing that the wait-time is going to be huge, then use the search bar to see how, there's a gazilion posts where it's mentioned.

The bigger problem is why the "DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" happening on both BF4 BETA AND BF3?! Never happened before until the BETA came out. WTF.

Exactly this is going on on my System. Its an i5 3Gig, 8 Gig RAM, Radeon 7870 Win 8 64, EVERYTHING is up-to-date, but still got this DX error. And BF3 won't work either since in installed the beta!
I tried so many "Solutions", i just was making some win updates und i was glad that the bf4 beta had an update ready, as was a new Radeon driver. Installed couple of ****, playing amazing 5 Minutes BF4 and "bing", dx error.
It's just annoying.
Anyone with this error changed his graphicscard recently without re-installing the OS? I was running a NVIDIA few weeks ago, but i am pretty sure I removed every driver fragment from registry. Dunno if thats the problem, its the only thing i can think of... was avoiding OS re-install
But then why do others get the same error? With total different configurations?

Well, I started getting this error after a few days of the BF4 beta. I have tried doing clean installs of the game, my OS, and of course graphics drivers. I tried underclocking my factory overclocked EVGA GTX 780 liquid cooled card. Nothing changed, once I started getting this error, it would happen in every game I played, though in Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim, the games didn't completely crash but would freeze for a few seconds over and over again and then come back. I tried testing all my other hardware (Prime 95, MemTest 86, etc etc) all were fine.
I finally contacted EVGA about it, told them the same, and they determined rather quickly that it was almost certainly a defective video card. I should have known this as Mass Effect 3 was showing this issue a few weeks before but I dismissed it as I had just upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 8. After I reinstalled the video drivers, the issue seemed to cease, but then after the beta it came back HARD in all my games, just like some of you guys. EVGA RMA'd my card, I should have the new one back in time for the release date, but you guys may wanna check out with your video card manufacturers as well and see what they have to say. In my case this issue was not getting better no matter what I tried, and I imagine it may be the same for some others as well.

Windows 8.1 Pro x64
Please stop telling us to relax and wait. I have been waiting for freaking 2 years for you to fix BF3 and now I bought BF4 and it's the exact same bull.
