DirectX/Driver Crashes

Product: Battlefield 1
Platform:PC
Summarize your bug DirectX/Driver crashes of two types that lead to the game to stop functioning.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I am not quite sure, it seems system specific to many folks. AMD and NVIDIA cards both have this issue with a large variety of hardware options
What happens when the bug occurs? It can happen at any time after I begin playing the campaign. Single player or multiplayer, I eventually get the bug if I play long enough. It can happen at the start as soon as I load in, or a few games in. No real correlation.
Please select your region North America
In what game mode did the bug occur? Conquest
AMD or Nvidia Model Number NVIDIA EVGA GTX 770 w/ ACX 2.0 cooling in a SLI configuration
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16

I have messed with my video options plenty. Disabled DX12 for sure, ran some driver repairs to check, updated BIOS and secondary drivers, changed settings from a mix of medium to ultra, dropped my refresh rate from 144hz to 60hz with VSYNC on and off. Nothing seemed to make a definitive difference, the time it takes to crash is very much varied. This happened both with the 37557 drivers and the previous version.
The most common crash error message

Second and less common crash message

  • Yeah I cant seem to play for more than 30 minutes before the game freezes and its not just the game the whole system is locked
you can hear a small chime in the back ground after a few seconds of the game freezing
i beleive this is a small error window showing the graphics driver error that i have managed to see once and has been shown in other bug reports for gahics drivers - game freezing
Only once you can ALT DEL to see the task manger or other screen
it happens in main game or in menu transistions.

last night restart over 6 times until i got sick of it.

and add to the lack of joystick support this is very disappointing from a so called AAA developer.
I see now what people are saying about publishers where a third of the money goes to the developer now i can see why
    more testing more beta

I get the same problem too, can't find a solution, saves me right to think BF1 would work on launch, uninstalled it and i'm going to wait a year or 2 for the game to work I think.  Fed up with Dice game never working on launch.

I had this problem for get device removed all I do is disable orgin in game overlay and I can play.

  • I am on the newest NVIDIA drivers and yet these crashes continue to happen. I have already tried the overlay fix, nothing has worked. All I can do is hope I can go long enough to complete a game or two before it happens. I'm at the point where I might try EA support for a late refund, this is beyond ridiculous. So many are having this issue and there has been no solution for a bug that's been around for some people since BF3.

Same issue here....  I'm getting tired of trying..

  • Solution:

1.Look what is the installed version DirectX version on your Windows.
    2. Go to BF1 Gamesettings and enable or disable the "DirectX 12 " option.

It look so: if u have Win7 its just DirX11 installed please put the Game option :DirectX 12 - OFF
If u have Win10 yr system use DirectX12 , so put the Gameoption "DirectX 12" - ON

That solved the problem on my system.
    No more crashes .:D

    I have the same:

I have repidetly, freguently error in Battlefild 1.
    It is DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

    I can not normal play.

I try change all settings: resolutions etc.
I try change driver version (375.63 and 375.70) and still the same.

When i was playing on beta version on BF1 it works perfect in my old driver version.
It was smooth and full of details (auto settings in graphics in the game).

Now not matter what i change its always bad.
Game cut mercilessly, low detail, overall it is a drama.
I think i have a good PC configuration.
It is not the newest but it can more than this game needs.

Please help someone. I think is the driver fault.

    My PC configuration:
    CPU - Intel Core i7 3930K 3.20Ghz
MAINBOARD - ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
    Memory - Kingston HyperX KHX2133C11D3 DDR3 32GB 667.0 Mhz Quad channel
Graphics - PoV GeForce GTX 590 2pcs in SLI (all have 6GB of GDDR5)
    SDD - SanDisk SDSSDHP-256G-G25
    OS - Windows 8.1 64bit
    Display res. - 3440x1440

OK. Now im fully confident it is the drivers fault.

    Let me explain:

When i disable one of my graphics cards game starts to work perfectly fine.

No bugs, no crashes all working good.

So...nvidia guys go to work and fix this fu..kin driver!

I installed the latest driver 375.95 and guess what has changed.
Nothing! and it is even worse than it was.

In example without sli works ok, but enabled sli are still the same problems plus the terrible downturn of game, plus flickering all subtitles on the menu and in the game.
    It just drama.

I think that: it is the manufacturer (NVIDIA) way to force customer to changing their graphics cards for newest models.
This is no be the first time when producer apply such methods.
I'm sick of it. Why? Read below.

But for balance i can tell you that AMD with his Radeon, it's not better.
My previus PS was based on AMD parts, included two Radeons in Crossfire.
In that time i was play on three FHD(16:9) monitors in Eyefinity res=5760x1080
this was good in BF: Bad Company 2 but when the BF3 arrived, all drivers starts to have many bugs.
    This was a tragedy.
Drivers were so bad that I can not even play on three monitors.

I had to give up and sell monitors and buy new one but wider QuadHD (21:9) res=3440X1440
