First fix if PS problem + PSN - Reset your account password and relog. Read threw all =)

Hey guys

- Sorry about the late answer and the frustration. Please understand this may more then likely be a problem your end unless the issue is being reported in high volumes. 

The problem so you can understand whats happening :

Most free routers from ISP's are repackaged Netgear or Dlink hubs. When a new proticle got realsed 10 years ago called UPNP several companys skimped on very very strict standards set by microsof in order to be classed as Upnp routers. Upnp pushes ports threw your routers firewall if required. However the problem basically manufested that small network use on the ports instead of major would cause the port to be dropped. EA uses a small connection only to transmit your stats to and from the server.

On the PC this happens every 5-10 minutes. Console i would pressume more due to being built on foundation of listen technoligy. Espically at start of the match. Obtaining this message in any EA game 99% off the time means your upnp is caboot. 1% of the time it actually means to turn it on, in order todo some co-op functions on PC in certain EA games you need it on.

What can also happen is the port can be blocked or obstructed. Cases of this will enclude 2 people in the house playing on the same game. To fix this read the very bottom of the thread, we will cover ~Upnp first. This is the evil one, in no ways EA's fault. As a industry if they set standards we upgrade. If they set the standard of having a real router to play, we the gamer will be first to upgrade. This causes a wave of word o mouth, consumer peer groups and finally the market standard. So big companys setting bars we need to reach real high we proceed to upgrade faster. Giving us the future faster - (this bit is to quell any mad brah)

So yeh the solution

Disable Upnp on your router.

This will enable a older more solid proticle. This pushes everything threw only one port (oo yeh..) , ofc its quite impossible for that port to close. In therom this could result in "packet loss". In practically tho never the case. You can use sites like pingtest to monitor changes in line quality.

To access your router you will need a web browser. I would not recommened doing on a console, instead utilize a PC and save the access address to the favourites bar. This way u can easily guide yourself back to the router if you go wrong

- On your router is make and model. If you google these 2 items + disable upnp - you will be able to find a guide. Probally inside a forum where someone else is asking and a lovely unsung hereo is answering em.

If not - Google Router config page + make n model to get IP needed. This is usually 192.168.1.1 in your address bar - you will need the admin info. 9 times outa ten this is admin followed by no password. On typing this if you are young, dont run with sizzors, grab a parent todo this with you.

- On the advanced pages of the router you will find upnp. Disable , save , apply , reset router and device.

This should fix your problem =)

If not you will need to forward the port. First if this is console and on wireless. Please check with a cable to see if the same result occours. If not this can point to DMZ, NAT or setting a static IP being your fix. To forward the port needed im just going to advise you to 2 pages. However please do remember you have Youtube + Google at your disposal sometimes EA bless them. Don't list the EA server port ^ all that yeh i just chatted about, on these pages. Usually however this is flagging up like hell in any kind of net log. Also usually easy to find via google.

This information you can not only use to fix future problems by understanding how to look at stuff better. You can help fix friends who have simular sort of problems. Always ask yourself,

"if everyone else in the world can play and not I , then why"

FN for those on PC having a mad google and read threw : i have now given up trying to guide people threw Nortan and Mcafee on the PC. This is useless software, if you are still reading here while mad googleing to fix same problem on PC but no luck. Remove it. (google how, not as easy as 1,2,3)

Please check back if you have any more issues - Also i hope you guys enjoy BF4 once you have fixed it. This fix should not affect you in any game, i insist perfect gameplay standards on hit registry etc, i have played with it off since it appeared. PAT>UPNP anyday . However i also have nice hub where it tis not broke anymore =p
