@danisoff yes you can join a game through BF4 integrated server browser, but sadly it doesnt work smoothly (shows empty servers as they were full, doesnt show some servers at all).
Battlelog still shows true player server count. So its still relevant, although has issues from mentioned in OP.

That’s not accurate. The issue you're highlighting arises from server owners using plugins that display fake player counts, a practice well-known within the Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 communities. The same problem exists on Battlelog for Battlefield 4. However, the advantage is that you can manually verify server populations on Battlelog to see if they're real players.
