Check that your monitor is actually physically connected to your GPU rather than the video output on your motherboard.

*UPDATE* i still have extremely low frame rates
-i have re-installed battlefield 1
-disabled origin in game overlay
-tried running a clean boot to try and isolate the problem
-did a clean install with DDU, of graphics driver/s (tried twice actually, once withasus website for my strix version of the gtx 1080 -driver 390.56, and again with link from official geforce website -driver 397.93)
-resetting
game settings Documents (My Documents)>>Battlefield 1>>Settings folder>> Delete PROFSAVE_profile file.
only thing left to do is re-install origin but im reluctant to do that as i will probably have to re-install/re-download bf1 which is massive! and i doupt origin application is the cause of my problems.
after all my attempts funny enough all my other games still work flawlessly on ultra settings with 100+ fps
Can you attach your dxdiag to this thread?
Does it happen if you run the game on all low settings in a 1080p window?

Community ManagerIt is probable that your machine is defaulting to your Intel video processing on your CPU rather than your NVIDIA GPU.

hey thanks for the reply.
i would have though doing a re-install of nvidia driver using UDD would have uninstalled any other graphics drivers... but seems it still has intel graphics linked to cpu.
It wont open nvidia control panel, its saying "you are not using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU".
can i disable the intel(R) Graphics 630? i worried that if i do i could loose all display
