'Failed to connect to EA online' Error. Can't play BF1 Online. [HELP]

I only managed to play around an hour of the trail before I was prompted to activate my product (the product being the BF1 trial) by typing my product key in the origin client.

Obviously, I didn't have a product key so I just restarted Origin and the game now launches fine with no problem, however I cannot do anything which requires me to connect to EA online.

This is what it looks like when I try to play multiplayer, edit my soldier or go to the store:

Things I've tried to fix this:

  • Reparing the game through the origin client
  • Fully re-installing the game
  • Trying a seperate internet line
  • Restarting my PC and Origin (about 1 million times)
  • Clicking 'GO ONLINE'

It's really frustrating that I can't play anymore and I've spent about 2 of the 10 hour trail just trying to troubleshoot this.

If you have any idea how to fix this then your comment would be very much appreciated. 🙂

Once in a blue moon it'll actually go online when I click the button. My other account/computer has no issues.

I'm also SO happy that I spent $64 on a game that I can't even play. I JUST LOVE EA.

I have this problem. On my Xbox it sucks because it's been working for nearly 2weeks. I tried....
    1. Restarting system
    2. Make sure my Xbox parental ctrls are not set to block content.
    3. Delete downloaded local content
    4. Testing Xbox live and multi-player

I have two copies and two live profiles it seems to be only related to one profile.

  • Hey @rosszorz

ah that's too bad to hear! =(

But let's try the following to get you back into the game.

A wired connection is required for this.

    1. Take your platform offline and disconnect it from it's power source.
    2. Restart your router.
    3. After the restart, restart your platform.
    4. Try to connect to a game again.
    5. If this didn't solve your problem, write down these ports to forward them:
