12 years agoFPS Drops? (PC)
Hey guys I'm not sure if its just me but I get a nice 60-70 FPS but every 5 or so seconds my FPS drops to like 12 or less! My Specs are: AMD FX 6100 6 Core, Clocks @ 3.3GHz 8GB DDR3 Ram 1.2TB...
Just copying out my thread opening in case DICE are looking specifically at this thread...
Hi, My specs are:
AMD FX 8350
ASUS GTX 670 2GB
8GB SINGLE CHANNEL 1600 RAM
ASROCK 960GM- U3S3 FX MOBO
I get fps drops in nearly every map I play. This happens on some maps more than others (not sure which ones), but the bigger maps seem to be better. I also seem to get this when there is a lot of action, like a chopper getting close to my guy. Normally my frames drop to ~30, and changing my graphics quality makes no significant difference apart from increasing my max fps. I have tried many fixes-
Core unparking
Disable Turbo Core
Disable GPU overclock
Set Max Fps in game to 59 and 60
Install DirectX in the game files
Punkbuster reinstall and update
Clean driver reinstall
Cable management to reduce temps
Disable Cool 'n' Quiet
Disable CPU thermal throttling
Increase supersampling %
And there could possibly be more that I have tried.
The main cause of this problem seems to be high CPU usage- by checking the PerfOverlay graph, I cant see that my CPU spikes up randomly as one big line, and sometimes the GPU goes along with it, although very rare. These spikes can range to 1/3 of screen height, all the way to the top! Also, when finishing a match, the two usage lines seem to make some sort of weird DNA pattern... but not a problem yet.
If you guys could try and make some optimizations for the client patch that would be great. And obviously if anyone has any potential fixes, please suggest them. I am thinking of trying out the Windows 8.1 preview in dual boot, but I will have to back up my files first.
same problem here plz we need some help ASAP!!!!
