12 years agoFPS Drops? (PC)
Hey guys I'm not sure if its just me but I get a nice 60-70 FPS but every 5 or so seconds my FPS drops to like 12 or less! My Specs are: AMD FX 6100 6 Core, Clocks @ 3.3GHz 8GB DDR3 Ram 1.2TB...
I had the same issue till yesterday. The things I did and you MUST try (please read carefully):
- nVidia control panel BF4's settings back to default (as this didn't seem to help me, I set "triple buffering" and "max performance prefered" again in the settings).
- Closed !avast, TuneUp, and MSI Afterburner and basically any other non essential program needed in order to be able to run the game (as this seemed to have no effect either for me, I have these programs running again while playing).
- user.cfg placed in game's main folder (you can find this file on some forums, but it only gives you slighty better FPS by disabling some effects, it doesn't fix the FPS drops for me, so I finally decided to delete it as my PC can hold good FPS without it).
- Disabled SLI (seemed to fix it but I can't be sure as the FPS drops with SLI enabled were around the FPS I was getting with SLI disabled, but I got really low performance to play on ULTRA, so I turned SLI back on. Basically it wasn't worth it).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE NEXT FIXES I TRIED CAN HELP TO IMPROVE YOUR OVERALL PERFORMANCE IN OTHER GAMES AND GENERAL PROGRAMS ALSO AND DON'T AFFECT YOUR SYSTEM IN ANY OTHER WAY, SO I REALLY DON'T RECOMMEND YOU TO UNDO THEM AS I DID WITH THE THREE PREVIOUS ONES. YOU CAN DO THEM ALL AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT HAVING TO TRY THE GAME'S PERFORMANCE AFTER EACH ONE:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Installed the "DIRECTX" file in the game's directx folder.
- Unparked CPU cores with a program found on the net.
- Disabled HyperThreading (HT) from BIOS.
- Reinstalled the latest graphic drivers.
- Repaired game with Origin.
- x64 setting in Origin's BF4 game properties.
- Deleted all .cab files in BF4's DirectX's folder and updated the game right after.
- Disabled CPU Parking from Windows' registry (search on the net).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The LAST TWO finally fixed my FPS drops. I can't be sure wich one it was as I did 'em at the same time.
It took me a lot of time to do and explain all this, so please consider giving it a try and telling me how it went. I really hope this helped.
Cheers 😉
