Freecam and gamepad problems

Hello. 

I record video from a remote controlled hexacopter. I would like my gampad to controll the frecam like I controll my hexacopter.

The problem is when I try to use left stick on the gamepad for up and down in the game. It won't let me. I can get the freecam to go down but not up and down.
