Frequent FPS drops and missing sounds.

Still, since launce i get fps drops.

This happens after a few minutes.

When the stuttering fps starts the gun sounds also stop for a while.

I've tried every trick on the net to fix this. Nothing seems to work.

Can anyone tell me what els i can try?

Ive tried this:

-cores unparked.

-priority set to high, and tried low.

-user.cfg (multible that where surgested)

-sound edit in PROFSAVE_profile

-Nvidia Vsync adaptive

-memory dump program

-ofc install directx in the bf4 folder

-reinstalled the game multiple times.

-reinstalled windows 8.1 pro multible times.

-latest drivers enz.

-disabled Origin In Game

Have steady 75 fps, drops to 72 under heavy fighting.

Than jumps to 23 and back to 75.

System:

FX-6100 3.4Ghz

8 Gb Ram 1666Mhz

Nvdia Geforce GTX 750 Ti OC 2Gb edition

Windows 8.1 pro

EDIT: What is noticeable is that when the drop start my gun sound is also gone.

So maby the solution lies in a sound fix, but the only fix i know is the one where you edit PROFSAVE_profile.

Btw i also removed the Nvidea hd sound.

Pls help me fix the game for me.

Paid premium for nothing still.

    Well its FIXED!

Could be a few possibilities that i have done.

1: I got the latest Realtek Audio drivers and removed Nvidea's HD sound.

    2: Bios update.

3: Disabled Hypertreading (HTC) in the bios under CPU Settings advance tab.

Also i found out that the FX processors are having trouble on BF4. Especially the FX-6100 (wich i have ofc)

Solution online was disable Cool and Quiet, but said nothing about hypertreading. I though that was Nvidea processors exclusive.

But its fixed, tested out all day on High settings and not a single fps loss.

Just in time for the next mp pack, happy camper i am, *cough* i mean run and gun.

  • Was the game at least playable until recently or have you not been able to play since launch? If it was playable until recently try disabling "Origin in game" and see if your game improves.

To turn off Origin in game log into Origin, in the upper left hand corner click on the word "Origin" in the menu, and then click on "Application Settings". Next go to the "Origin in game" tab and uncheck the "enable Origin in game" box.

No i had this since launch of BF4.

Stopped trying to fix it a long time ago. But they recently came out with a huge patch to fix net code and other things. So i tried again.

    Still no luck.

Cause i bought the premium on launch i find it a super waste just not to play BF anymore.

Plus if i can fix it for this i can play Hardline when it comes aswell.

Because i fear it has the exact same issues as BF4.

Have you ever checked your windows for errors ? If not it is worth a try.......

This next part works in all windows O/S vista win 7,8 and 8.1 windows system file checker  :]

...... sfc /scannow ..... ever hear of it  if not your going to love this .... it will inspect all the important windows files as well as the windows DLL files. If windows system file checker finds any issues with the windows files and windows DLL files it will replace them. This little tool as well as the event viewer saved me  and fully helped me fix my BF4 issues as well as saved my .... many a format since I found it. This is the best toy they ever put in windows :]

1 - Open administrator command prompt  and close web pages and programs like origin

2 - Type or copy and paste in   sfc /scannow   and hit enter, This takes 5 min to 15 min  SSD vs HD

3 - This can go one of a few ways ..... no errors  ... it fixed some  errors  ..... could not fix all errors...... does not finish checking and errors out ....... and the last one could not fix errors at all :/

4 -After its done reboot and do it again even if you had no errors the first time or had errors, could not fix ...  run sfc /scannow  again and when its done a second time  reboot. You need to do this a and get no errors 2 x in a row ...

5- So if you ran it 2x and no errors your safe you can stop now for now  lol, If you had errors first time but not the second then run sfc /scannow  again and when its done reboot. You need to get could not find any errors 2 x to be safe. If it still finds errors try and run it a few more times until it finds no errors 2x AND ALWAYS REBOOT BETWEEN RUNNING sfc /scannow

6 - If you get a message indicating that it can not be repaired and you ran sfc /scannow  2X in a row on win vista or 7 mm you need a format :/ But after format and all updates are done run  sfc /scannow to make sure your windows is stable same deal 2x error free reboot between, then If your O/S is Win8 or Win 8,1 then you can run this next command / line in administrator command prompt. Sadly this does not work for win vista or 7 :/  It will restore the health of your PC and you dont lose anything

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth   <------- ONLY works for windows 8 and 8.1

7 - When its done reboot

    Unfortunatly this didnt help.

Still fps drop after a few minutes and the sounds fail when the fps drops.

It did found problems, using sfc/scannow

And the long command line did fix them for me so thats a win. Just the game still unplayable half way trough the map.

Ok well good it fixed your windows as stable windows is half the battle in BF4 so its a start to get your BF4 working correct. Not fully sure this can fix your issue but it is worth a try as it has fixed issues for others, I am thinking this could fix your sound bug and maybe your FPS in game. ....

In my documents you will find a BF4 folder holding the game config files and screen shots. Put it in recycle bin or desktop  then repair game and try BF4 again. But to give you a heads up you will have to re set all your in game settings.

Your FPS drop could just be settings in Nvidia control panel or a issue in BF4.... open NCP and on Adjust image settings with preview pick use my preference and set it to performance. Next go to manage 3D settings program settings add BF4 if not in already and make sure triple buffering and vertical sync are off.

Also what are you using to see FPS in game? Is it fraps or some other program? I made my own cfg to show fps in game so I dont need to type in anything or run fraps BF4 already is a hog lol so why run extra stuff .....this is how you do it..... Sadly I cant get in to work in BF3 :[ lol

    1- open note pad

2-put this in the note pad.....  perfoverlay.drawfps 1

3-when you make the user.cfg in notepad, change the file type from text to all. And

    name it user.cfg

    4-Put in .....:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4

    5-Also close Origin to put cfg in just to be safe :}

If this still does not work then this is my full post on how to fix BF4 when every other fix has failed to fully fix it. But it is a big pain to do and I am the first to admit that and I am not fully sure you need to do it so try the stuff above first. But if all this still fails then it is worth a try and yes this is everything I did to fix my BF4 lol big pain in the .... it was but it worked for me and a few others and some of it you already did.....
