FYI: False Banwave, Gamehack #81518, Bug Duplicated, Ignored by All (EA, PBBans, EB, Devs, All of You, Etc), and Still Waiting for Answers...
So, here we are with another False Banwave, Gamehack #81518 and most importantly of all, no one gives a damn. On the Battlelog forums it was tested and duplicated:
To quote:
In short, easy way to get banned:
1. Open Cheat Engine 3.6
2. Attach it to any process. Ex.: calc.exe, utorrent.exe, notepad.exe, steam.exe
3. Play some BF, in ~20 minutes you'll be kicked with violation #81518, streaming (PBBans) servers will convert violation to ban.
The guys at PBBans, although it may not be their problem, are not exactly moral pillars of excellence either. This fight on PBBans, with Admins who have as much understanding as a Walnut, as you'll notice they started restricting people who ask questions. Then when someone could duplicate it, because he was in Russia using a proxy to play the game in another region, they ignored it:
This was highly funny to me today, gotta love people's answers to it all:
"If you have CE running for any reason, you will get a PBB... CE is a hacking program, and even if you're not using it on bf4, its still running on your pc."
Which I find to be a largely improper stance, but seems to be the norm for this, everyone is fine with it all. I don't personally consider PB an invasion of privacy, but if it is checking installed software, than isn't running or isn't affecting the game I am playing that they are protecting, I consider that an overstep personally. His attitude though is the norm.
Anyway, I appealed again now to EB as well, with more information and evidence for them, with some having shown the issue is having the software Cheat Engine installed, but without having run it to Battlefield 4, and getting banned by Punkbuster. I believe this can be duplicated, and should be able to be done easily by them there, showing this is indeed a false violation. I hope so because they seem to be the most reasonable of everyone at this point. No Dev's responded when PM'd, the PB guys are not listening, the people on this forum are largely the same as the rest, and the people on Reddit were also not helpful. The most help anyone has been, have been the people banned by this, forsaken by all others.
According to many, even having the program Cheat Engine installed, even if not used for BF4, is grounds for a ban, however I think cheating in the game I am playing is grounds for a ban, not having software installed, and even cheating in another game. PunkBuster's goal is to prevent hacking in online games, not to determine whether I am allowed to play them based on my own software use unrelated to their games. I do not have enough sarcasm for those statements, I really do not.
If this is not enough, then we will go from there. At that point maybe my spite will be high enough to buy the game again and record the whole thing, because people's behaviour on this is shameful. You may ask why I still post, and I answer that make this thread for the few who will search for it, as those are the people who deserve an answer, and wont get one otherwise.
Of side notes, my own experiences:
3. Initial Technical Support Thread
More who speak and are not heard:
5. Older Reddit Thread, User Who Got No Help
6. New Reddit Thread, Still No Help
P.S. I have calmed down a bit, and I apologize for my anger throughout, it was not the best behaviour, and though I understand people's hesitance to answer such anger, ask yourself how you would react in my situation. The technical support thread alone, was 5 hours of one day, formatting and continuing to troubleshoot the next, even before finding out I was banned, because Battlelog was broken and gave no error messages. I do not like my time wasted any more than the next person, whether you think I am a filthy hacker or not, the game has its "issues" and they compounded this greatly. That and not being told anything, just "you are banned" is the most unhelpful thing ever. How can you appeal not knowing what you were guilty of? See tech support thread and number 2 for the details there.
