8 years agoGame freezing computer
HI, I just ordered the game to play with my cuz and my game is crashing every time. It freezes somewhere between 5-30 minutes. I can't Task Manager or anything. I have to reboot every time. I have ...
Hey @kingchocomilk Do you get any error reports when you are crashing? What you can do is to try reinstalling the GPU drivers

I re-installed the drivers again. Still no luck ☹️
My problem was say 10 or 15 min into a multiplayer campaign my machine would just shut down, no beeps noises messages nothing just off. I updated the drivers made sure i had the very latest version of my windows (which sometimes isnt found on the microsft download page!) still the same issue, I contacted EA and they advised that there wasnt any crash reports on my account meaning it was deffinitely at my end. I did 3 things, (my pc is second hand bought from a gamer and is around 4 years old.) I took it outside (no point in blowing dust into the same room as my pc as it may find itsway back in!) took out the GPU and with can of compressed air gave it a good old clean. Lots of dust was present, I did the same with the CPU. Now i coulnt reseat the CPU properly while the processor was still attached to the heatsink, so when i separated the two there wasnt a lot of thermal compound at all on either surface. So a good old clean and a fresh application of Thermal paste needed. The 3rd thing was to plug the PSU into its own socket. BF1 needs plenty of juice and generates lots of heat as a consequence. So firstly get one of the EA guys to check for crash reports against you and if there are none, and you havent been inside your machine for some time, if at all, follow what I did. I dont have any problems now.
All my parts are new and I put the system together myself.
What's the point of posting the Diagnostics on this forum if there's no attempt from the techs to take a look??
