Game Won't Install from Disk (PC)

so i uninstalled and let bf4 reinstall Origin and it goes right back to trying to download instead of install it.... i cant even get the first disc to work

This works, just try opening the disc folders and running the setup as an admin, if that doesn't work, delete origin and then try again.

This solved the problem for me. You need to uninstall Origin you won't lose any game info from other games in Origin so don't worry about that. Restart the autorun from disc and let it reinstall Origin and download the update for Origin. If you tried to start downloading BF4 you can cancel that. Then restart the autorun to begin installing BF4 from disc. Hope this helps.

Outside of the confirmed solution above (thank you for documenting it), there are a few more things you can try:

• Logging on as administrator / running the installer as administrator
• Disabling compatibility mode
• Disabling any emulation software (clean boot as described in my previous post should also take care of this)

When I put in the product code for Battlefield 4 it said it registered under my account and then it said "Error" or something like that so I quit out and tried again. And when I put in the code it says its already been redeemed and then takes me to Origin where it says BF4 is downloading. How do I make it download from the disk instead of download from the internet? Please reply ASAP.

Been trying to figure this problem out this whole evening. I get this error message when trying to install through origin....."error a redistributable package (directx) was not installed successfully. setup cannot continue. (false)".

I have skimmed through loads of threads and forums with no luck.

I just fixed mine. Go to x86 program files/ origin games>_Installer file>direct x file. Make a new folder. DO NOT NAME FOLDER, just leave it as new folder. Then go into redist file, and all the .rar (WinRAR) files over to that folder except: DSETUP.dll, dsetup32.dll, DXSETUP. Restart your installation. This worked on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I have the same error too and i've tried so many things

I'm at 95 % install , dam thing has stopped and restarted at 84% !! I've been at this all **bleep**ing day !!

Stopped at 99% with error WTF !!

i got battlefield 4 disk verison for pc and when i tried to install it after entering in the production code it errored i dont really rememeber what it said but not i cant install the game using the disks i have to download it from the origin store which is going to take for ever does anyone one know how to fix this so i can use the disks instead
