Getting Kicked Constantly On BF4

Hi all,

I'm constantly being kicked between 5 to 10 minutes after joining a game on multiplayer with the following message...

"ERROR
Game disconnected: you were kicked from the game."

Now not being the most informative of messages I've tried any fixes I came across, but none have worked so far. My computer meets almost all of the recommended requirements, so hardware shouldn't be an issue and I can game for a number of hours on BF3 without being kicked.

Was just wondering if anybody has encountered this issue and if they were able to resolve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm really disliking the fact I've paid £50 for a game I cannot play ☹️

mark this as solution if it solves your question so others will know the answer when they come here

  • I've contacted them on a number of occasions and nothing they reccomended has solved the problem. Things like deleting browser cache, deleting temporary files, update/repair the game, turn off anti-virus, clean boot.

I genuinely feel I have no other option than to ask for a full refund.
  • Hi there, did you do the common fixes?

Here they are in all their tedious glory.............

    -Reinstall Punkbuster.
    Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4 and select pbsv.exe . Choose 'reinstall'

    - Make sure you download and install the latest Battlelog plugins.
First uninstall old Battlelog plugin by going to "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" and removing "battlelog web plugin".
Then log in using Origin and go to battlelog page where you'll be prompted to download latest web plugin.
After you have installed it you should clear your cache, exit your browser. Then restart your browser, and then re-login to Origin to ensure proper install.
If this doesn't work then you should try a different browser (Chrome/Maxthon/Firefox, etc)

-Delete Bf4beta game (in case any of the files from that are conflicting with the release version of Bf4).
Then go to C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings and delete the file "PROFSAVE_profile"

    -Disable Origin in game.
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

-make sure that you've updated your drivers to latest version (go to Nvidia/AMD website)

-make sure you have installed all updated service packs for windows and rebooted your computer.

    -Update your Microsoft .NET framework.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851

    -Reinstall DirectX.
    1:go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist
2:Find file named DXSETUP.exe and double click it (while connected to the internet). Install it. It should update your DirectX install.
3: You might need to reboot computer first.
    4: try to launch game.

    -Reinstall C++ redistributables.
    1:go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist
2: Double click vcredist_x64.exe/ vcredist_x86.exe and follow onscreen prompts.

I am some other have the same issue, please put your experiances and hardware spec on my post to keep the issue alive, any solutions would be most gratfull as well.

Most of the above tips have been attempted, the issue seems to effect AMD Windows 8 users, nothing to do with Punkbuster.

the only solid solutions discoverd so far is I have replaced my new AMD card with and old Nvidia one, another poster "localbigshot" has rolled back to Windows 7  to fix the problem. Nether solution is practical in my case.

  • I'm pretty certain that the issue is to do with PunkBuster, so at the minute I've only tried re-installing that (I've forgotten how many times). I may try out the rest of your suggestions, but the following update makes me believe it's definitely 100% a PB problem...

The other night after tinkering some more, I somehow managed to get PnkBstrB.exe installed and I could play BF4 not only for more than 5 minutes, but for an entire game! I thought the problem was solved, until I turned on my machine the following morning. I went to check on PnkBstrB.exe and it has disappeared =( Reading through numerous posts I've read that sometimes anti-virus can block PB from running so whilst PnkBstrB.exe was installed, I made sure to add it to the exceptions on all of my anti-virus features (AVG in case you're wondering). Exceptions for PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe located at C:\Windows\SysWOW64 are already in place so that should be an issue. Even though PnkBstrB.exe has been removed from C:\Windows\System32, I can still see the exceptions that I added for it.

Guess my questions now are why won't PnkBstrB.exe install when I re-install PB and when I did get it installed, why was it removed?
