GPU Does not support DirectX 10.0 which is required - BF4

Hello,

I recently installed BF4 via Origin, and when I attempt to play, I receive the error "DirectX device creation error - GPU does not support DirectX 10.0 which is required."

Via dxdiag, my graphics card supports DirectX 11.0.  The AMD website says the card supports DirectX 10.0**.  Either way, I feel that the game should work if it's only requiring 10.0.

I understand my graphics card is pretty outdated and not ideal for the game, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice as to how to get around the error I'm receiving.

Thank you.

    yes...

the message below and above appeared on my screen in a red (dunh) error box after dowloading
    another free game.

sadly, when i checked the only available sources for the answer online, i recieved a similar
    reply.

replies for issues with servers and drivers are manufactured and provide very little information
    about the problem.

after all, when your a *-stupid hacker-scavenger you have to scrape the dead flesh off of a carcass

instead of admitting that you don't have the answer because you were trained at a monkey petting

oooh! that was a stunning sound.

who should i call or write or complain to and about for piping narcotics into the community
    using the internet?

how did they get past my computer's firewall?

    how did the message survive?

    silent or dumb?

    direct x 11?

    it is on my computer.

    i just bought the thing.

    support?

this year or for like... idiot's operating bouys 3.1. ?

  • Hi guys,

I have a Gforce 1080Ti and get same error, not always, only sometimes.

I´ve solved it by terminating windows session and logginin again.

If error returns repeat procedure. A pain in the * but it works for now.

    Hope this helped.

  • So i have the same error that's fixed but definitely a different config than most. I have an external GPU 1050 gtx with a Thunderbolt connection. The problem appeared after updating the Nvidia driver.

I disabled the Nvidia driver in Windows settings then started the game in my x1 Lenovo built in Intel 620 GPU. Closed the game. And reEnabled the Nvidia driver in settings. Verified it's active and started the game with no errors and 70fps vs 16fps on the internal gpu

    This worked for me thanks!
  • I tried a lot, but I thought: "It's something with thwe drivers of the graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti), so i de-installed the card in Apparatus Management (Dutch: 'ApparaatBeheer') and installed it again.
    And it worked...!
    So do the same...

I'm closing this thread to stop it being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield 4 please make a new topic about the issues you are having and what kind of steps you have tried to solve it.
