High Ping in Conquest only at certain times of day

I've had no trouble upto 5 days ago, I've been playing conquest bf1 on average of 34 ping for a few weeks now .  But all of a sudden in the afternoon/evening all conquest goes to 140+ping everyday.  The ea support guy sent me an email with useless steps which didn't work,

the ping goes back to normal usually around 11pm or midnight.

Does anyone have a solution that could help? I've already tried opening all those ports and udp ports but makes no difference.

Played since early January on 34ping, now all of a sudden goes upto 140 ping

-------------

Windows 10 Pro

I5 3570 3.4GHZ 16GB DDR3

Radeon R7 200 Series

ADSL2+ (Change of ping is not because of my ISP, I've run multiple speedtests and always stays roughly the same)

  • my household recently had issues with high pings during gaming.  either both me and son playing bf4 or  me on bf1 with son on league of legends.  things that i found out that affected my ping, which is normally 70-80 (yes i'm out in the middle of the pacific) with spikes up in the 300-500 range are related to apple.  i've noticed that apple products will

backup when connected to a wifi.  i've turned it off automatic updates on all ipads, iphones in the house. and the ping returned to normal.  we've had the issue again but found my youngest on his ipad streaming videos and running other apps on his ipad.  when he stopped doing multiple things the ping returned to normal.

not sure if you have apple products or if i'll help, just threw it in there.

    Hello @FuzZi_Wuzzi_BEaR

I am really sorry for those connection troubles. Try these steps first to clear up any problems you may have when connecting to Battlefield 1. Have you tried to restart your router? Connected it with your PC with the direct cable?

Keep me posted on your progress.

    Cheers,

    Archi

  • Yes of course I've restarted the router, and It's always connected with network cable and not via wireless.

i've just finished playing a game on conquest and my ping was about 33.  I've monitored all the apps running in the background, nothing else connects to the internet.

And to top it all off I still have that problem connecting to servers, saying something like 'Server disconnected you were unable to connect, click ok', takes me about 7 tries to connect to a server sometimes, other times straight in.

Just an half hour ago I suddenly start having +30 pings on all servers. It was just fine before that. Other games are fine. Only BF1 pings are 30-35 ms higher than before. Resetted the modem. Restarted the PC, nothing changed. That's really weird.

  • Well the game did a large update last night and miraculously back to 30's again 🙂

LOL I hate apple products, no apple products in my house , hopefully tonight my ping will be the same still later tonight...

The only other problem I have now is connecting to Servers, that message keeps popping up "server disconnected you have lost connection to the session" click OK.. don't suppose anyone has any info on this one ?

Appreciate your quick replys everyone 😉

  • Turns out last nights ping was great, but today its back to 130-140 + again... Team deathmatch is fine, its just conquest yet again...   I'm confused as I run the speedtest and everything is fine... One day great ping, the very next day terrible.  Sorry I thought the problem was solved after last nights update but no... ☹️

  • Hello Archi,

I started getting these high pings after the last patch. Before that, since launch everything was great.

Last night around midnight my pings got back its normal levels (50-60 ms). But now it got doubled again 120-130ms.

Like I said I'm having this issue only with Battlefield 1. Other online games that I have like Titanfall 2, Team Fortress 2, Killing Floor 2 etc.. are all fine.

I talked to my ISP and they asked me to do a traceroute to one of the game servers to find out the bottleneck, if it exists. But I couldn't do it, since I can't see any of the EU server IPs. I guess DICE ones are located in Rotterdam. Just need an IP though.

Thanks everyone for your help, I might try swapping modem-routers next, apart from that I think its the game and I'll just have to wait a couple of years till it's fixed like bf4 LOL. 😉
