High ping only in Battlefield 4 (PC)
I've recently returned to BF4, only to find that I am experiencing a ping that is significantly higher than my connection/any other server connection/game. Ping is frequently around 120, while my connection is usually about 25 ping.
Connection to the house is Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) on a 100mbps plan, routinely achieving less than 25 ping and greater than 90mbps down.
Router is an Archer VR1600v connected via ethernet.
Location is Brisbane, Australia.
Network adapter is standard Intel Gigabit LAN found on the X570 AORUS ELITE
When viewing the local server list in game, all serves show 20-30 ping.
When viewing the local server list via Battlelog, servers show roughly 120 ping, which is experienced in game.
When viewing US/UK servers, both in game and Battlelog show them at approx. 200-220 ping, which is as expected.
I have found no other game with Oceania server options that has this issue, including other EA/Battlefield titles.
This problem exists exclusively with BF4 when set to local servers.
Troubleshooting attempted:
EA's simple and complex network troubleshooting guide
Restarting router
Resetting router
Using an alternate internet connection (cellular 5G, 37 ping, 534mbps down)
Deep uninstall/reinstall of BF4/EA app
Following multiple troubleshooting tips from this forum
Testing with/without 'Optimize Bandwidth' enabled in game.
