  • Well since this is not a request for the entire game I think I'll be able to provide links without Electronic Arts actually blocking me for posting them.

    first enable DirectPlay  please see this video guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWZT_lBygq0

    now just download this patch from team simple https://team-simple.org/download/bf1942-v1.61-origin-patched.zip

    Installation:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Extract in "Origin Games\Battlefield 1942" directory
    overwrite the existing Battlefield 1942 excludable withe the new one.
    This allows battlefield 1942 to work without origin and redirects the executable to the new Master server.
    if your game doesn't start up properly after that I need to know what your monitors lowest resolution is that is supported ?
    bf1942 requires 800x600 to be supported by the monitor in order to start up.
    simply go to your windows monitor settings and see what resolutions are available is 800x600 available in the list ?
  • I tried the 2nd part and the game boots up and you see the E.A. Games Logo, and then it starts the vehicles segment opening and kicks you to desktop and flashing back and forth between half booted game and the desktop and the mouse clicking has no bearing where you end up, the only way to stop that is "Ctrl", "Alt", "Delete" out and shut off the game through task manager. But there was progress the game boots there is sound and there is a video and the icon on the taskbar would flash up a miniature version of the game, "Working", so I am hopeful we can figure this out if you are willing.
    me again I noticed the 2nd part of your post and my lack of concentration on/off attention noticed and turned down the monitor to the minimum "800 x 600 and set the graphics in-game to max 1080p 60fps but I still must have the pre-game lobby with all the choices running in 800 x 600 in 56-89 fps but the game works fully and I can multiplayer thank you very much, a small crypto tip is warranted if you will oblige me as a thank you
    Tested again no problems operating it, I shall back this one up now
    you don't have to set your monitor to 800X600 I only have to know that the monitor supports that resolution.
    because some laptop screens no longer support such a low resolution.
    this results in Battlefield 1942 starting up and then closing the only solution then would be to have a program that mimics 800x600.
    it's quite normal for Battlefield 1942 on Windows 10 too have a black screen that can last quite a while I myself play bf1942 in 4k and during startup and a map change
    it can take quite a while before the screen appears despite me being on a very fast computer.
    here's my latest 4K video you can see during a map change that takes quite a while.
    and The only thing I need from you is to press multiplayer button then press internet button on the bf1942 menu and press the update server list button and finally jump on any servers from time to time in multiplayer and keep this old school beauty alive and well by playing it 🙂
    I just love to stream and play it and always happy to help people to get it back to work 🙂
