How do I read the perfoverlay.drawgraph?

I have it enabled, but I am dumb on the subject, so I can't understand what is happening. How are the GPU and CPU lines suppose to look like for a PC that's playing the game smoothly? I want to figure out the source of my stuttering, but I may be just too picky. I've seen gameplay videos, and I've noticed the stuttering in them(although it could just be the video that give the illusion of it). What I've noticed is setting the fps limit through console command makes the CPU line stay horizontally, but it looks like my cards begins to act up. It might lessen stuttering, but now I get it back when proning or parachuting.

This isn't pixel skipping or what not. My definition of stuttering is that when I turn around an object, lets say a pole, the transition is jerky (pole moves like a fast slideshow). It's more noticeable in corners, poles, and trees.

My GPU is a 2GB EVGA Geforce GTX 660.  My CPU is an i7 3770 @ 3.40 GHz

Upward spikes on the GPU (green) graph are not desirable. A relatively flat line with no spikes and with the average as low as possible is desirable.

What about spikes on CPU ?

  • This is a pretty vague response... I have the blue square spikes and cause freezes and look it up on internet .. well, can you please explain each one, like packet losse or latency witch we all know but how about others graphical lines ? I really want to know what causes those spikes when I play battlefield 4 so can I address it. Thank you
