How do I remove "Please update your video driver"

First let me state as a Community Leader of seven years and one who runs eight servers in BF4 , I have more then just a little contempt for EA/Dice. It's truly hard to keep my statement here civil.....I mean I truly despise all of you, and all your company stands for.......truly corpoRATe garbage.

I've figured out your advertising/product pushing system, and instead of updating my video card I found that if I go back to a old version of driver the game works famously.
No more crashes, black screens, etc.

Now I'm left with your advertising departments pop up screen telling me that I need to update my drivers so my game and PC can crash till I get a new video card.

The message states " Please update your NVIDIA GeForce driver"

How do i remove your forced plague? Or should I just delete BF4 and move on?

mark this as solution if it solves your question so others will know the answer when they come here

  • I hardly think it is the "advertising departments" that creates that pop-up 😛

What is telling you to update your driver, is it Origin? because I've never seen it do that.

No, your right, but it does get done by someone. And well we know there are no shady deals in video games.

Look there is no real reason for this pop up, none what so ever, it's frankly not there area of responsibility. So it it looks more like impropriety then EA/Dice being helpful.....just real vile stuff.

I was using 306.23 BEFORE loading BF4. I updated to the latest Nvidia driver 331.82 and THEN loaded in BF4.

Since applying the latest Nvida driver I've had countless crashes in and OUTSIDE of the game. I had to turn off my Power savings setting so my monitor won't shut off, it I didn't it would lock up the PC. GIMP almost always crashes now, even after updates.   And BF4 was braly playable.

I uninstalled 331.82 and went back to 306.23 and all is right as rain, and BF4 runs WAY BETTER, not even close, so yes I can use the older drivers, they work great.

What I em having a problems with now, every time I go load in BF4 ( which several times a day due to EA's latest joke/screw you with the idle timer on BF4 servers) I get a pop up warning that stops the game load till you click "OK". It tells me "Please update your NVIDIA GeForce driver", this has only happens after going back to the old one. I never ran the game before I updated to the new one so I don't know if it would pop you then.

What I do know is it's a pain in the ass from a company that is already a pain in my ass. I also know that my Quad core with it's old 460GTX runs sooooooooo much smoother in game with the old drivers, period.

I guess I have two questions....

    1. Does EA staff respond to these, or do they side step their reasonably here to?

    2. And the biggie....How do I remove the pop up warning?

I think you have to go into your Windows settings (asuming you are playing on Windows) and remove it, but  im not sure.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've checked it out, the task manager has says BF4 is calling it. I thought at first it was the video driver package, but the PID leads back to BF4.

REMOVED a lot of things /carbonic

So you guys not only haven't responded here ( I can only assume this is another joke placed here by EA to make you think they are doing something for you other then take your money, [removed] you've updated your useless [removed] for the latest non working Nividia driver.

Maybe you [removed] could put a check box so you don't have to deal with it every time you enter the game.

I'm aware of the paradigm that using expletives and derogatory language seldom gets you what you want, this is more of an experiment. It seems the only way to get a real EA employ to respond here is to get some complaints, god forbid they actually do there job and offer some customer service.
