You have to get to level 50 and get 5000 kills with the M1 Garand.

  • Assault

Along with regular attachments such as red dot sights, etc., Assault Rifles can be equipped with an under-barrel frag grenade launcher, smoke grenade launcher and shotgun attachment.

    AEK-971 Vintovka

    Unlock: Starting Assault weapon

Details: The AEK has an "average" firing rate for assault rifles and has really good stopping power, however it suffers from moderate recoil, even when aiming down the sights. The iron sights are very easy to use, and it is very user friendly.

    XM8 Prototype

    Unlock: 3,000 Assault Points

Details: The XM8 Prototype is a very balanced assault rifle, with approximately the same power as the AEK-971, and high accuracy. This is a very versatile rifle that can be utilized even at medium-to-long distances with burst fire. The iron sights are very simple and open, so you won't need an red dot for this gun. Once you acquire this rifle, there's really no point to the other rifles other than to try them out. XM8 and M416 are pretty much the same except for really minor differences in reload and firing speed.

    F2000 Assault

    Unlock: 8,000 Assault Points

Details: The F2000 Assault is a powerful assault rifle with a blazing-fast fire rate. However, it suffers from a great amount of recoil. If used in the right hands, the weapon's tendency to sputter out bullets can be an advantage for burst-firing, while also being deadly up-close.

    STG.77 AUG

    Unlock: 20,000 Assault Points

Details: The AUG is a slightly more powerful assault rifle with less accuracy and an average rate of fire. If utilized properly in close-quarters-combat, it can drop targets really quickly. As you gain more kills and get Star ranks for the weapon, the accuracy is improved and thus can make the AUG a more ranged and deadly weapon.

    AN-94 Abakan

    Unlock: 28,000 Assault Points

Details: The AN-94 is a great 2-shot burst fire Assault Rifle that is really powerful and accurate. If you can place your shots without relying on spraying, the Abakan is a great weapon for you to use. However, it is a poor choice for close quarters combat.

    M416

    Unlock: 35,000 Assault Points

Details: The M416 is an assault rifle for almost all situations. It packs a punch, has great accuracy, on par with the XM8 Prototype and AN-94 and relatively short reload time. It has a weird bullet pattern so burst firing is recommended.

    M16A4

    Unlock: 47,000 Assault Points

Details: The M16 is a burst firing rifle firing 3-round bursts and is the last unlock for the Assault Class. It uses relatively easy iron sights and is both accurate and the recoil is often kept to a minimum. It's only disadvantage is slightly less damage than the AN-94. The M16 is often poor in Close Quarters, much like the AN-94. Easily the most well-rounded assault rifle, especially at greater distances.

  • Engineer

An Engineer's primary weapons are sub machine guns equipped with silencers. Most of these weapons have a low damage output but a very high rate of fire and exceptional close-quarters accuracy.

    9A91 Avtomat

    Unlock: Starting Engineer weapon

Details: With rather hard-to-use iron sights and effectiveness that is limited to close-range combat, the 9A91 is not among the best weapons, let alone the best starting weapons. Although it's hard to use in any situation other than close-quarters, its fast firing but low damage can take out enemies really quickly. It can be really useful (as well as other SMGs) when advancing in a building. The true flaw of the 9A91 is that it only has 20 bullets per magazine, and with a fast fire rate, you will have to really watch your shots or you will find yourself in a sticky situation that requires you to reload when close to enemies. With practice however, one can use the 9A91 firing in single shots for medium range kills.

    SCAR-L Carbine

    Unlock: 2,500 Engineer Points

Details: The SCAR is very similar to the 9A91 in the sense that they both have similar fire rates and damage, but the iron sights are much better and although the stats show similar accuracy, you can really be more effective with sight aiming. It also has a 30 bullet magazine which really is useful as the extra 10 bullets can save your life.

    XM8 Compact

    Unlock: 6,500 Engineer Points

    Details:

The XM8 Compact is the sub-machine gun variant of the XM8 Prototype. It is slightly less accurate than the SCAR and 9A91 but does slightly more damage and has a faster rate of fire. It's iron sights are the same as the XM8 Prototype for the Assault Class and with burst firing it can be used effectively at medium-long range.

    AKS-74U Krinkov

    Unlock: 16,000 Engineer Points/Limited Edition

Details: The AKS-74U is an excellent SMG that has high accuracy and high damage, as well as high rate of fire compared to other SMGs. It's a definite upgrade from previous Engineer weapon unlocks. In simple bursts, it can take out enemies really quick, and from close-medium ranges too. However, it's advised not to hold down the trigger till the magazine is drained because like the AEK-971 for the Assault class, it has high recoil, so spraying will cause your crosshairs to move apart very quickly, or cause your sights to shift upward quickly.

    Uzi

    Unlock: 26,000 Engineer Points

Details: The Uzi has great iron sights and its damage and accuracy is slightly higher than the PP-2000. It is often under-rated over other Engineer unlocks, it has a fast fire rate and is recoil is medicore. It is ideal to burst fire the weapon for medium-to-long range encounters.

    PP-2000 Avtomat

    Unlock: 32,000 Engineer Points

Details: The PP-2000 has a 40 bullet magazine and has a reload time of a pistol, but its ron sights are often difficult to use so while it's not recommended to be used at long range it can be in emergency's. It has the best accuracy of the SMG's, close to that of a sniper rifle and it's damage is only slightly lower than the UZi.

    UMP-45

    Unlock: 43,000 Engineer Points

Details: The UMP-45 has similar damage to the AK-74U and the same fire rate of the SCAR. It's downside is the small 25 round magazine and hefty recoil when fired full auto, causing your crosshairs and sights to go haywire.

  • Medic

Medics can use light machine guns which feature large ammo clips. Be aware however, that these weapons take a long time to reload.

    PKM LMG

    Unlock: Starting Medic weapon

Details: The PKM LMG is a well balanced, 100 belt clip LMG that doesn't fire as fast as most other LMGs, but has impressive stopping power. It has some great medium-long range capabilities with burst firing. Full auto is ill-advised except for close-short range encounters.

    M249 SAW

    Unlock: 3,300 Medic Points

Details: The M249 SAW is a slight step-up from the PKM LMG and is one of the first 200 round LMG's the player can aquire. It has a faster fire rate and slightly better accuracy, but it suffers from a slightly lower damage output. However, it's extremely effective at dropping targets if you can land all the fast firing shots on them.

    Type 88 LMG

    Unlock: 8,600 Medic Points

Details: Being the only other 200 round LMG it has great power second to the M60 but its accuracy is relatively like the M249. It's iron sights are obtrusive and difficult to use, it's best fired in bursts are medium-long range and full auto in close range.

    M60

    Unlock: 25,000 Medic Points

Details: One of the most used LMG's in the game. It is a powerful if somewhat slow firing LMG with a good accuracy rating but it's iron sights are difficult to use properly and it only has a 100 round belt. It is wise to use a Red Dot sight with this weapon.

    XM8 LMG

    Unlock: 34,000 Medic Points

Details: The XM8 LMG has great iron sights similar to the Engineers XM8 Compact and the Assaults XM8 Prototype but it has slightly less accuracy than the MG36. It's damage is only slightly lower the M60 and it's reload is much faster, as it reloads with Drum magazines instead of belts.

    MG36

    Unlock: 42,000 Medic Points

Details: The MG36 comes with a red dot as standard freeing up a perk space in Core gamemodes, in Hardcore it is removed and becomes an open scope that becomes useless. It does slightly more damage than the XM8 LMG and has better accuracy and rate of fire. It's recoil however is slightly higher. The MG36, like the XM8 reloads from a Drum Magazine meaning the weapon reloads faster than the belt fed LMG

    MG3

    Unlock: 57,000 Medic Points

Details: Other than being the fastest firing gun in the game, it has the lowest damage. Spraying is not recommended because you will empty the whole magazine very quickly. This is an ideal LMG for Close quarter combat, as the witheringly fast rate of fire will keep opponents at bay.

  • Recon

The Recon Kit has access to a variety of sniper rifles. These weapons have high powered scopes which allows them to be extremely deadly at long ranges. Know that most of the sniper rifles have an extremely high damage output but a very low rate of fire.

    M24 Sniper

    Unlock: Starting Recon weapon

Details: The M24 is the default Recon weapon, but don't let that fool you. Its damage output is powerful, and its default scope is simple and easy to use. It simply suffers from a low rate of fire and having to manually **bleep** the bolt of the sniper rifle after every shot (aka zoom out of sights after each shot.) While the M24 is poor in close quarters, it will kill or severely injure targets at close to short range. Generally considered to be the best sniper for most circumstances.

    Type 88 Sniper

    Unlock: 2,200 Recon Points

Details: The Type 88 Sniper is a sniper rifle that does a lot less damage then regular sniper rifles, but it's semi-automatic, meaning you can shoot almost as fast as you can hit the firing button. However, the more frequently you fire the Type 88, the recoil becomes increasingly high and it makes the scope nudge upward drastically. This means that it is a pretty poor weapon in terms of accuracy and damage. The Type 88 Sniper will only become better as you increase Star ranks on the weapon, making the accuracy and recoil a lot better. The Type 88 can be used as a medium range battle rifle, if the Red Dot sight is equipped.

    SV98 Snaiperskaya

    Unlock: 6,000 Recon Points

Details: The SV98 has less stopping power compared to other Bolt action rifles and is often labelled the weakest Bolt Action Rifle, as it takes 2 shots to kill regardless of distance without Magnum ammo. It carries a 10 round magazine and uses a rather obscure scope which can make distant shots noticeably easier.

    SVU Snaiperskaya Shot

    Unlock: 15,000 Recon Points

Details: The SVU is a silenced Semi-Automatic sniper rifle with a scope similar to the SV-98. It is more useful for close to medium range encounters, the Silencer prevents the rifle leaving bullet trails making stealth easier. It is recommended to fit either a Red Dot or ACOG sight over the standard sight. Magnum ammo is also recommended, as the silencer reduces the damage done compared to the T88.

    GOL Sniper Magnum

    Unlock: 21,000 Recon Points

Details: The GOL has the highest accuracy of the Sniper rifles and almost no-existent bullet drop. It uses a relatively simple scope and has 5 rounds. It can kill in 1 shot at close range without magnum ammo. The GOL has a semi-fast reload rate and cycles the bolt after each shot. It does not require much adjustment for head shots at long range.

    VSS Snaiperskaya Special

    Unlock: 26,000 Recon Points

Details: The only full auto sniper rifle but also the weakest. It uses the same default scope as the SV-98 and the SVU. It is a silenced automatic sniper rifle with a 20 round magazine. It is ideal for close to medium range but it can be used at long range with short controlled bursts. The recoil is very high and can kill in 3 or 4 hits at medium range without magnum ammo. It runs out of ammo quite quickly so it is recommend to use either Magnum Ammo or the Ammo perk. It is best to switch out the standard scope for the Red Dot or the ACOG and use it as an assualt rifle. As an "assault sniper" it is very effective, as a pure sniper it should not even be considered a weapon.

    M95 Sniper

    Unlock: 34,000 Sniper Points

Details: The M95 is the perfect one-shot-kill weapon for infantry and is a weapon to be truly feared. It can penetrate walls and even deal some minor environmental damage, as well as damage to light vehicles such as ATVs and Jeeps, Helicopters can also be damaged by a minor extent. However, its damage only slightly outweighs that of the M24, in addition to having an extremely long reload time. Its poorest trait by far is its ridiculous amount of bullet drop.

  • All Kits

These are weapons that any Kit can equip and use.

    M9 Pistol

Unlock: Starting secondary weapon for all Kits

Details: The basic sidearm of all starting players. It is equipped with a 12 round magazine and does decent damage for a pistol with an okay rate of fire. It has moderate recoil when fired quickly and is an ideal sidearm for a Sniper or a class going with a shotgun.

    WWII M1 Garand

    Unlock: Earn Veteran Status

Details: A semi-automatic battle rifle, given to those with Veteran Status. The M1 is a powerful weapon capable of killing in 3 shots at close to medium range and 4 shots at long range without magnum ammo. With magnum, the weapon does 2 shots at close to medium and 3 at long range. Ideal for a beginning player but gathers dust later as the player gains a higher rank. The M1 Garand is very accurate and can substitute a sniper rifle in another classes kit.

    WWII M1911 .45

    Unlock: Earn Rank 4/Limited Edition

Details: A semi-automatic pistol given to those at Rank 4 or those who purchased a Limited edition copy of Bad Company 2. A powerful handgun useful in the early stages of multiplay. Powerful and accurate with 7 shots per magazine with a decent rate of fire. Ideal for close quarters and in extreme circumstances can be used at medium to long range.

    870 Combat

    Unlock: Earn Rank 6

Details: A pump action 12 gauge shotgun and the first shotgun the player unlocks. Carries 4 rounds and pumps after each shot, making the fire rate very slow. Very powerful at close range but the damage diminishes at medium range when using standard Buckshot. When equipped with Slugs it's range is vastly improved but it takes multiple shots at medium range to down an opponent, however equipping magnum ammo improves the shotguns damage to a one shot kill ability at medium range and 2 to 3 shot kill at long range. Using the Shotgun capacity upgrade specialisation, gives the weapon a total of 8 rounds. Ideal in gametypes such as Squad Deathmatch and Squad Rush due to the smaller map size and more frequent player vs player encounters. It's also great for guarding the stairs in houses.

    WWII M1A1 Thompson

    Unlock: Earn Rank 10/Limited Edition

Details: Earned at Rank 10 or given to those with a limited edition copy of BFBC2, the M1A1 Thompson is a powerful and useful weapon early on for those that get it. It's a full auto sub-machine gun with a powerful kick and a 30 round magazine. It is fairly accurate when fired in bursts and can effectively be used at medium range. It's power is limited without magnum ammo, often taking 4 or 5 shots at close range and 6 to 7 at medium range. With Magnum Ammo however, the Thompson becomes a valid close to medium range weapon, it's high rate of fire coupled with its accuracy benefits greatly on one-on-one encounters. Despite being an all-class weapon, players can equip the Engineers SMG specialisation to improve accuracy.

    MP-443 Grach

    Unlock: Rank 11

Details: A pistol that holds 17 rounds. In the style of Bad Company 1, this gun has low damage while having a large magazine. While doing only slightly lower damage than the M9 (usually by 1 or 2 shots more than the M9), the Grach becomes a more useful tool in close quarters - since it has a lighter trigger pull and can fire pretty quickly. Its 17 shots can be emptied pretty quickly and it has very good accuracy to boot. While it's damage is low, it can defeat enemies at medium range with patience and slow firing. The iron sights are often criticized for being crude and difficult to use over longer distances, so short to medium range is recommended for this weapon. An ideal weapon for a Sniper or an Assault soldier with a itchy trigger finger.

    Tracer Dart Pistol

    Unlock: Earn Rank 11/Limited Edition

Details: Players earn this tool at Rank 11 or players with a Limited Edition copy get this right off at the start. It is NOT a weapon, shooting players serve no purpose other than to have a flickering red dot move around the screen and make your target more visible to the naked eye. The Tracer Dart Gun is a useful tool for Engineers as the Dart it fires sticks to vehicles such as Tanks and Helicopters. A flickering box appears on the screen, Engineers that scope in and move their crosshair on the box for a seconds and it will lock in place with a range readout in meters, this will allow Engineers to target said vehicle and fire a rocket that not only improves it's speed but give it limited tracking ability. With practice, one can fire a locked on rocket past obstructions and buildings to strike enemies from behind cover.

    Saiga 20K Semi

    Unlock: Earn Rank 12

Details: First semi-automatic shotgun unlocked, meaning that pumping inbetween shots is not required. Low damage in comparison to the 870 Combat, however its rate of fire is overwhelmingly superior. A good substitute for Assault players who need C4.

    MP-412 Rex

    Unlock: Earn Rank 16

Details:This is pretty much WWII M1911 .45 but with more firepower, more recoil, and a much slower fire rate. If you're feeling like trying something new, then go for it, otherwise there's really no point to this gun as it's only advantage over the WWII M1911 .45 is it's firepower and even then the difference is only 1-2 bullets.

    M93R Burst

    Unlock: Earn Rank 19

Details: If you chose this as your sidearm, then you're pretty brave. The damage of this gun is so low you might as well just throw it out. Couple that with it's insanely high rate of fire and abysmal accuracy, you're in for a treat.

    SPAS-12 Combat

    Unlock: Rank 20

Details: High damage shotgun with poor accuracy and a low rate of fire. The Neostead 2000 is a much better choice, as it is largely the same gun, only more powerful and accurate.

    M14 MOD 0 Enhanced

    Unlock: Earn Rank 21

Details: Similar to the M1 Garand, only slightly more accurate and a much higher rate of fire. Great alternative to a sniper with some of the best iron sights in the game. Downsides include inability to attach a scope, slightly undersized clip, and poor close combat ability.

    USAS-12 Auto

    Unlock: Earn Rank 22

Details: Great mixture of high stopping power and high rate of fire. Generally considered to be the best semi-automatic shotgun in the game. Very poor at distances, even with 12 gauge slugs.

    Neostead 2000 Combat

    Unlock: Earn Rank 23

Details: Most powerful shotgun in the game. When coupled with 12 gauge slugs it can be used for "Shotty Sniping". Downsides are slow reload time and a rather small ammo capacity at 4 shots.

    G3

    Unlock: Earn Rank 26

Details: Great firepower and accuracy coupled with being fully automatic makes this a great gun, but make sure you shoot in 1 or 2 shot bursts as the recoil for this weapon is pretty big.
