How to add friends on origin

I have been trying to add friends on origin so that i can play Battlefield 4! I have been told that to connect your xbox live profile to origin you have to add friends and then select xbox platform e....

    Hi,

    in your Origin client click on the friend button, an icon that show 2 heads and a number. Your friends list will

    show. On the bottom click on "+ Add as friend". Another window will show up that enables you to connect

    to other services. To search friends, enter their Id or e-mail and click search.

I want to add to this thread:

I do not want to download the origin app.

However, I used to be able to add friends in the Scrabble app owned by EA and I am no longer able to do this.

How can I add friends WITHOUT the Origin app?

Exact same problem! I can't add friends on the scrabble app game. It only shows the origing sign in button, i sign bet there's no friends there or any way to tap a name in order to find my friens.
