When I launch Battlefield 4 from origin, it opens up a web browser in which I have to play the game through. When my friends launch the game however, they get a client that pops up and it is an actually main menu in game. I would like to disable Battlelog and use the in game menu, as it lets me actually join their squad. Any way I can do this?
Hey guys quick update.. I managed to solve the issue and can see the in game menu now without any problems. Here’s what I did:
1) backed up the battlefield folder in program files / origin games and moved it to a safe place (desktop for now). This had my user config file so I wanted to save it.
2) removed the battlefield folder from my documents.
3) uninstalled battlefield
4) uninstalled origin
5) reinstalled battlefield (I bought it on steam so I installed it there) and installed origin as well.
started up the game and it worked.
To me it seems like they did a slight update on the UI. The icons look a little different and the font is slightly bigger. And due to this change our games broke. A commenter above me was able to get the game running without reinstalling, but if their method fails you can try mine and hopefully it will work!

If someone could have a look at this. It's really infuriating to use the outdated battlelog instead of the newer, nicer in-game menu.
Agreed, this is a disgusting oversite on EA's behalf, I had no issues yesterday and everyone else that I've played with who purchased the game through steam has had endless issues but I forgot, EA doesn't care about their relationship with their player base, they only care about filling their corporate pockets with the hard earned money of those who purchase a game to have a little bit of fun as a minor escape from the reality we are living in and yet they still only care about the money. I'm surprised EA hasn't partnered up with Rockstar at this point cause they're just as good at robbing people by selling them crap that doesn't work or is guaranteed to break after a few uses. Well done EA, let's have a round of a applause for the brilliant after sale service, none could possibly hope to compare.
