5.When I changed my FIELD UPGRADES from Indirect Fire to Shadow on my Playstation 3 it immediately stopped crashing.
Edit (via EANils): Highlighting this post as a solution for the PS3, thank you very much for documenting this. We are still investigating this issue, but in the meantime, if you are on the PS3 please do not select "Indirect Fire" as your FIELD UPGRADE.
Edit 2: No longer marked as solution due to remaining issues with the Xbox and other reported instances of crashing on PS 3.
Hey that fixed my problem. I changed my field upgrade from INDIRECT to SHADOW and I can play as Support without crashing!!!

So what about people who are having issues with it freezing as you are joining? I also had mine freeze mid game and I haven't even used any field upgrade other than Defense.

What about those of us who still consistently freeze on dawnbreaker. I have put all my info in a previous post to this thread? It doesn't matter what I am doing or what class I chose I almost always have my 360 slim freeze on dawnbreaker. I have inquired with friends who all seem to have to exact same issue although some also freeze on Hainan Resort. Also has anyone figured out the problem with the campaign progress not being read by the game and restarting people every time?

xbox 360 player, slim 320 gb hdd, I have NOT ONCE YET EVEN TOUCHED the support class nor customized any aspect of it, I have however tried the solution of installing both discs, deleting the updates and clearing the cache, all multiple times with the same result, THE GAME KEEPS FREEZING, especially on dawnbreaker and resort maps. Some real answers are expected seeing as how all of us have paid you for a product which you have failed to deliver and are so reluctant to get real answers out there. Why have any social media accounts if you will not respond to your customers...
the xbox 360 version is not fixed for me also. Did all the reinstalls, clear cashe 3x in a row to make sure.
The patch better come soon! Never had these issues with any other DICE game why now?

I added the Xbox360 to this sticky to help us getting mor
1 & 2 = nothing.... it is always in between matches I finish 1 match get my scores and awards await the timer to next match it fades out and fades back to the the screen previewing the next map location (aka Lancang Dam or seige of shanghi etc) loading cursur pulses up and down as it shows loading
sometimes i can hear squadmates on headsets talking but never get dropped into select screen to pick my deployment
3= I believe i have PS3 slim
4= I usually play support class but its happened on assult class as well
I am having the problem and i havent even earned indirect fire upgrade as of yet ??
Did this and all field upgrades still have lock up on spawn. I've tried taking everthing off and still does it.
PS3 freezing issue was cleared up on my end using the support loadout and using the indirect fire upgrade. I switched back to defensive which is what I was using prior to unlocking and then moving over to indirect fire. I just played 3 full Conquest games with no freezes that is the first time in 48hrs. with no freezes. This freezing crash issure really worked well. Also I did not have to change the resolution. Not sure what exact PS3 I'm using, it not a slim and it's not a piano it was the one in the middle

Thanks so much! I was plagued with this problem for almost a week. Sony nor EA could help me they took me from deleting & reinstalling the game to updating system files, data base, cache. See your post tried it & solved my problem. Thanks again!!!
