Same problem here. Whenever I join a new server, all sound effects but the "match is almost over" sound, the ribbon/medal awarded sound, and sometimes an exploding grenade are heard. Everything else is muted until the first match is over.
The few of my squadmates who had a headset also seemed a bit laggy and "off", but that could their headsets for all I know.
I'm unable to give you any specs, as this happens to me on PS3. The only thing I can tell you is that this indeed was on TDM. Can't give you any other game modes as most of them (at least prior to the latest patch) seemed to crash my PS3 at a random moment during random matches (IE Siege of Shanghai on Conquest has a 100% crash-my-ps3 rate).
