I have had the same issue after installing the new patch and downloading the latest ATI drivers (13.12).

FIX: Start a new online game and then hit ESC, go to options.Fiddle around with the AUDIO settings - I got it working by swithcing from SURROUND mode to STEREO, save.

Note: this might not be a permanent fix and might not work on everyones version, but it did at least work out for me!
