I've tried running the game as an administrator, disabled my antivirus and restarted my PC, but no matter what it will not launch! I get to message that it's launching, but it never launches. I checked in task manager to see if it's running or anything, but no. I'm disappointed since I was looking forward to playing this game.
As some of you guys reported that you are not able to launch the Origin version of BF1942, we started to collect some data here in this topic.
Please keep in mind that we will update you about or investigation as soon as we have some news.
We would need some data from you to investigate this issue:
- Operation system
- General PC specs
- If you are using more than 1 Origin account on the same PC
- If it was the first time you are playing BF1942 or if the issue happened after a new installation of Origin or BF1942
- Workarounds you already tried
Thanks for your help guys, it makes us a lot easier to analyze issues with your provided data.
Cheers

Same issue here. I installed the game, and tried running it. It proceedes to running a loading menu for a breif moment stating that the game is launching then the prompt disappears and nothing happens. My brother has almost the same exact setup as I do and he has no problem getting the game running.
I have
windows 7 64bit
CPU AMD 8350 4.0ghz
GPU MSI radeon 7850 2gb
8gb ram
1TB hdd
This origin account is 2 weeks old and the only one I have ever had.
I installed the game 2 nights ago
No issues running any other games listed in origin including BF3
I've tried everything listed including running as admin and changing compatability modes.

Have you guys given up on us BF1942 fans? It seems it has been like forever since launch off BF1942 F2P. Really big fan off the BF series, its a shame we can't play it for some reason, really brings back memories.

I am having the same issue everyone else is, I've downloaded the game through Origins (twice), I've repair installed a few times, and I have disabled it from running in Origins. I've also tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP (both service pack 2 and 3) and even Windows 98 just for kicks. One difference I did have while using the XP compatibility in instead of doing nothing, I instead received an error that said "Missing required file ssleay32.dll." I've also tried a number of the fixes and work arounds suggested in this thread and others, thus far nothing works.
Here are my computer specs:
