Invalid license. Reason code = Invalid Cipher(0x0006)

Bought the game - install it - update it - 6 hours later after everything is done, I get this goddamn error on start up:

Invalid license. Reason code = Invalid Cipher(0x0006)

WTF???? The license key shows perfectly in origin and I double checked to see if it matches the one in the dvd case. Thanks EA, you just screwed me

    Hello @KosblikKont

Are you talking about Battlefiled 1? This error message was mentioned couple of times on Battlefield 4 boards. If you are missing your game in Origin library I suggest you to bring this to EA Advisors directly https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

    Cheers,

    Archi

Yup, battlefield 1. I googled the error and saw that BF 4 was littered with it too, I also tried the live chat but gave up on that after waiting for more than hour for an advisor, I tried the repair game option - no difference, tried redeeming the product key in origin and it gives you feedback that says the code has been used....obviously!!! By me!!! and yet I get an invalid license error?

I can't return the item because it's not physically damaged, so my only two options now is trying to download a crack for the game and hope that the crack will work with the original game files from the discs, so that I can play online. Or download an illegal copy of the game and just be able to play the short campaign...which sucks.

    Hello @KosblikKont

I strongly disadvise you to use any third-party software to mess with Battlefield 1 files. This can not only hurt your PC and compromise your personal information, but also violates our Terms of Service and can lead to your EA Account ban. I suggest you to get in touch with EA Advisors on this, and if you are having troubles connecting with them through our site, you can give them a direct call +44203 014 1818.

    Cheers,

    Archi

Quite frankly, I couldn't care less of the terms and agreements...EA already messed up that one with providing false product codes with the game, banning my account would be a nice way to cover their *. And I can't phone to the UK to maybe get in touvh with somebody who might be able to help, have you any idea how much it costs to phone a number abroad?

This is the very last time that I'm legally purchasing a product from EA, I will literally pirate every single game showing on origin...one way of getting my money back

@KosblikKont I know that you said that you repaired your game, but when you did it did you run Origin as an administrator? I ask because I had this error in BF4, and the only way to correct it was to right click the origin icon on the desktop, select "run as administrator" then log into Origin, right click the game icon and select "repair". Running a repair without first running Origin as an admin did nothing to correct the situation but running Origin as an admin fixed everything for me.
