Issue with Steam version of Battlefield 3

When trying to open Battlefield 3 in any mode (Campaign, Co-op, Multiplayer), the EA app opens and displays the error in the picture attached. It only happens when using the Steam version. When I install it using the version I bought in the EA app, it works fine.

It started happening after a recent EA app update and it started showing new splash screens when games are launched through Steam.

    I would just continue playing it via the EA app if it works Kantong​. There is a bunch of other posts that have similar issues like you, but I have yet to see any consistent way of fixing the issue.
