Issues connecting to EA servers [Verizon Fios]

Certainly on Verizon's end. I found a fix though and it worked fine. Need to adjust your MTU.

First off  this is not hate mail , I'm a gamer since the 1980, been here from the start, and i am up to date on all gaming news. My morals just can not allow myself to let greedy people to take my money.  Which is hard, considering i will be missing out on all the great games that EA is associated with... so again i say, anyone who reads this, understand its not hate mail. Hate mail, trolling, bullying, these are all real serious problems we have in gameing, last thing i want is people thinking im raging over a game.

I have the same problem its been 15 hours, still cant get on.... EA dont care about anything except selling the game. Wont even give us the dignity of telling us they are aware of the problem... cause it dont matter to them, they got our money, thats the ONLY thing that matters to them.... This is the LAST straw for me. over the past 15 years im witnessed the countless lives negativly effected by them.

I am gonna be passing up on "awesome" games, but i will have to live with it because it bothers me too much to allow a company like this to have my money.. and so it will never happen again..

My loss of buisness only means losing out on 200-250 $ a year . which is why they dont care, cause they are a monopoly now, and not enough people have the morals like i do, to be able to NOT buy that next "awesome" game , to force EA to listen. which is a shame , if everyone was like me, EA would HAVE to deal with the problems, because NOT dealing with it would mean people not spending money anymore, causing the company to HAVE to listen to gamers.

OUR MONEY is the ONLY way to get through to them,  if their paychecks depended on getting these problems fixed, their would NEVER be problems lasting more then an hour.. but they already have our money, and the joy of the new games as they come out, causes us to forget about how EA poops on  everyone..

Good luck with EA everyone, there is PLENTY of Game companies that DO listen,, no room in life for a company that doesnt... Good bye EA.

lol the website wont let me post what i wanted to say, cause they dont want people knowing about it, it could open their eyes.. so i had to leave out a very crucial part that everyone needs to be aware of about them.

If anything this just goes to show how garbage origin is.. you basically have to be a network technician to be able to play their games

jinx your feeling is mutual with the vast majority of pc gamers.. you are not alone. I REFUSE to pay $50 for premium, which should basically be free updates to the game I already paid $60 for.. while cs:go gets FREE updates constantly and the game costs like $3 bucks

the funny thing is, after the disaster that bf4 and simcity has shown that EA wont be in their position of power for too much longer.. you cant continuously **bleep** on your consumers and not anticipate there being a fallout

I notice that you havent replied since. im guess that your post was just so theres a staff reply on this thread? asking what system , then not replying is the same as a Waitress asking what drink you want, then never coming back with it...................:manindifferent:

Its the EA servers man, there is nothing you can do to make it work, if someone does something, that mkaes it work, its just a couincidense,, nothing we can do to fix it, its on EA side, not ours,, so trying stuff is pointless.

have you tried the MTU stuff that kanrad posted?

I even did the live chat with a EA rep last night, he told me to disable my antivirus (which i shouldnt have to do) and disable my upnp (which I also SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO) - neither worked

then he goes "well it must be an issue with your ISP, there is nothing else we can do on our end - Sorry"

It's not just Battlefield. Fifa and madden are both having the same issues. I talked to tech support for EA this morning and he helped quite a bit. He said my trace route came back fine and that I should have no problems connecting. Gave me a list of ports that need to be enabled but that I need my ISP (Verizon FiOS) to help with. I called Verizon and they said only Premium Tech Support can help me with that but the thing is, you don't talk to anyone in PTS, you talk to a f'ing salesman wanting to sell you tech support to do your port forwarding for you for $15 per month at a 10month clip. WTF?? I think this has something to do with Verizon's dispute with Netflix. Is anyone having this issue that isn't with Verizon FiOS?????

I'm also with Verizon, in Grapevine, and have been having the same issue. I haven't tried the MTU change yet as I'm on Xbox One. I am also having the same issue with the commander app on my tablet - which meant that it ruled out the fact that the Xbox one was the issue. It's not port numbers - I put the xbone in the DMZ temporarily, ensured the NAT on the xbone was Open, and still had issues.

Connecting the tablet through TMobile resulted in no issues.

Anyone in this area had any luck with connecting an xbox or tablet to BF4?
