Joystick still not working after update

So I only recently heard that joystick support had finally been implemented for PC users, which, thank you first of all. However, I still cannot get mine to work and have seen on forums that others have been having this same issue. More specifically though I have a HOTAS setup and not just a joystick, however, I have heard from numerous others that many hotas setups are currently working including the x55 and x56 from saitek, mine is the x52 pro. I am wondering if there is a known workaround for this particular unit or if there is another known issue that i could troubleshoot? I cant imagine it is simply a software issue with the unit as it uses the same drivers as the x55 (at least i believe it still does) and that one has been confirmed to be working with BF1 just fine.

PS: The troubleshooting suggestion has come up numerous times to attempt disabling the throttle or unplugging it, however, the x52 throttle houses the USB cable and cannot be used separately and so the computer recognizes it as a single device.
