I've played almost every BF title since 1942 launched in 2002. Every BF game I've played thus far has supported joysticks out of the box.

Why doesn't BF1 support joysticks? What's the plan here? Will joysticks be supported in the next few weeks, or is this something we can't expect until you guys get around to it in a patch 2 years down road?

I can't believe BF1 doesn't support joysticks. Any reasonable person familiar with the BF franchise would assume that BF1 would support joysticks.

Can I get a full refund if joysticks won't be supported?

Joystick support is not yet implemented in-game but this is currently being worked on.

While we do not have a date that Joystick support will be available, it is definitely in the pipeline.

I bought the game before I knew about the lack of joystick support.

I loaded it up, bound my (Logitech 3d Extreme) joystick just fine in the bindings screen, but many of the bindings did not work, for example the POV hat switch, the rudder axis. This was tried in the campaign mode and plain sucked. I haven't played since BF 42 and BF Vietnam, but both those games supported fully the MS Precision 2 I was using at the time.

So, the game actually recognizes the correct axis bindings, buttons etc when setting it up, but when you play they don't work .......  brilliant EA !

I was fortunate to discover the issue within 24 hours of buying the Ultimate Edition and got a full refund.

EA didn't even want to know why I requested the refund.

I now understand that EA is marketing to the Xbox and Playstation crowd (who use game pads), and have left us PC gamers out of the party.

  • Any update concerning this issue? I have two different flight control systems and the simplest being a Microsoft sidewinder precision 2. I just bought the game a few days ago. I opted to use the the Microsoft stick for this game. All the buttons will bind but the pov hat and rudder do not operate in game. What a joke!

This still hasn't been solved yet?

I'm confused. This thread is marked as solved, but it still looks like others can't get their joystick to work either. There is a joystick option in the keybindings, but it is unpopulated, and mapping keys don't work.
