Last game update - Battlefield 4 DirectX Error

Hello!

Today I decided to play a couple of games in Battlefield 4 again.

But shortly after spawn I get this error window:

DirectX Error

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's device failed

due to badly formed commands send by the application. This is

an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed. ").

GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770", Driver: 33221

I don't know much about DirectX and coding/scripts in general. But I hope you can figure this out.

I think the last update also included AMD Mantle as well, maybe that could be the issue?

GPU: GeForce GTX 770

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor

8 GB RAM

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate

Running with Nvidia GeForce Experience

I don't know if it will help because I didn't get this error but there is a new update for battlefield 4 and Origin didn't tell me that but stopped me from playing the game.

I had to manually update the game from origin to be able to play again, do that if you haven't already and see if it fixes the problem.

    -Reinstall DirectX.

    1:go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist
2:Find file named DXSETUP.exe, right lcik and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR . Install it. It should update your DirectX install.
3: You might need to reboot computer first.
    4: try to launch game.

    Still doesn't work then....

    -Update your Microsoft .NET framework.

Make sore your drivers and updated.

If this helps, please click the white XP button and to give me some XP.
If this solves your question, click the green solution button and mark it as solution so it can help others with the same problem.

  • Just started playing again today with no crash. The problem is solved... and hopefully it won't get this crash again.

The reason why I posted was that the error message said that this should be investigated.

I also tried to run the DirectX setup again, but I got an error telling me that it's already installed.

Anyways, thanks for the comments. I really appreciate any help 😕mileyhappy:
