Lost connection to EA servers

I haven't played the game for a year, or maybe even more, I've updated the game with the latest update and started playing again but I am constantly getting disconnected from games or even when I am in the multiplayer section. I've looked at all threads about this issue but nothing worked. I have more then 200 hours inside of this game and I never had disconnects before.

Also I just played BF 2042 and I did not encounter any problems there, while in BF1 this happens always and very frequent, I cant play for 30 mins without disconnect.
Is there anything that could be done to fix this?

  • Update:
Since I had nothing left to do to fix this I tried to reset Windows (complete reset of Windows partition) and after doing that issue appears to be fixed.

There must have been something causing disconnects but I dont know what was it.

    Edit:

It still loses connection after couple of hours of playing but I guess I can live with that.

  • Hello @Ozrensky,

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Server Status: Sometimes, server issues can cause disconnections. Check the official Battlefield server status page or social media channels for any ongoing issues.

    2. Update Network Drivers: Ensure that your network drivers are up to date. Visit your device manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers.

    3. Adjust Firewall and Antivirus Settings: Make sure your firewall or antivirus isn’t blocking the game. You may need to add Battlefield 1 to the list of allowed applications.

    4. Port Forwarding: Forwarding the required ports for Battlefield 1 can improve connectivity. You can find the necessary ports in the game's support documentation.

    5. Change DNS Settings: Sometimes, switching to a more reliable DNS can help. You can try using Google's DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or OpenDNS.

    6. Check Internet Connection: Run a speed test to see if your connection is stable. If you're on Wi-Fi, consider switching to a wired connection for more stability.

    7. Reinstall the Game: If all else fails, consider reinstalling Battlefield 1. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues caused by corrupted files.

    8. Reset Network Settings: Resetting your network settings can help. Just be aware that this will remove saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords.

    9. Contact EA Support: If none of the above solutions work, it might be worth reaching out to EA Support for more personalized assistance.

    Best regards,

  • Thank you for help. I am in talks with them, hopefully there is a solution on their end since I dont what is left for me to do to fix this...

  • At the end EA support forwarded me to this forum, no solution still.
I've tried everything I could, DNS, Router reset, Router restart, Port forwarding, drivers update, wifi/ethernet switching and even tried wifi with mobile internet from the hotspot.
I've also reinstalled EA app and game twice so far and installed everything on laptop as well and I get the same behaviour.

  • Latest info:

I've talked to multiple EA support personel, we tried everything without fix and in the end this issue was marked as a bug and will be forwarded to their game dev team.

  • I’m having the same problem; I can't connect to EA servers in the game, even though I have a good internet connection. However, I was able to connect using mobile internet, but it's impossible to play because that connection is too weak. I wonder why I can't connect on my regular network.((((

Since you are able to play over mobile network (I couldn't) then it is probably something related to your router and network settings. Try setting DNS, restart and reset Router, port forwarding, ethernet/wifi, some people over internet said that turning UPnP on or off managed to fix this.
Also I can connect to servers and play, it is just that it kicks me always after some time.
