Low FPS on Altai/Guilin

Hello.

I've recently been playing the new China Rising DLC released not too long ago, but I am having issues with the maps Altai Range and Guilin Peaks.

Just to point out: every other map runs perfectly fine (that means all BF4 maps, Silk Road, and Dragon Pass), with no FPS drops or anything that affects my frame-rate, during levolution as well. (Well, I usually trigger them myself, heh).

On Altai Range, some specific parts of the maps, my frame-rate drops very low (around 9-16). It only occurs on specific areas of the map, as in if I was climbing one of the hills, it just drops down, but if I move away from it while still staring at that same location, the frame-rate rises back again to playable (around 34-45). When on the capture point that contains the large radar dome, it also occurs on just specific areas.

On Guilin Peaks, this issue also occurs, but when I am inside the caves, and right on the capture point C.

Lowering the settings to low or medium is the only thing that eliminates this issue. It occurs anything higher. The problem is, that same frame-rate I get when having it on medium is what I'd have if the game ran normally on high or ultra settings. This issue is also present whether the map is empty or full, and looking at any direction while in the lag zone does not affect it, it just stays low. (example, looking at the sky).

Is anyone having a similar issue? Are those maps just using extra detail than all the other maps? I run the game on High/Ultra hybrid settings with no issues other than these two maps (well, really, the only thing set to high is Effects quality). I will not set the options to low just to play these 2 maps, and I would rather just not play them.

(AMD Phenon II X4, 965, 3.81GHz, 8GB of RAM, ATI6950 2GB, Windows 7, 2TB space) Yes, latest drivers are installed. 12/3

A video has been included to show one of the lag zones (or frame drop zones, wh-whatever you want to call it), thou seeing the low frame-rate will be hard, but I promise you it's present. Note that there are more areas. As for Guilin, it should be obvious as to where the locations are. (Caves and the capture point C), so no video for that one.

Thank you for your time.

  • This issue has been resolved for me after the latest update, and I no longer persist in low horrible frame-rates. Thank you very much. I've been DYING to play these maps. I have no detected any low unusual frame-rates.

  • I got the exact same issues as you with these 2 maps.

I'm getting such low fps that it's almost unplayable.

    This is my system

    CPU: Intel i7 4770K

GPU: GTX 670 with 4 GB DDR5 Ram

    Memory: 16 GB 1600 Mhz

    Drivers: 331.93 (latest beta driver)

I have no issues on other maps what so ever, and the game is running smooth there.

And I have heard alot of other players also complaining about low fps on these maps.

  • Oh wow, that's very strange.

Not to mention your rig is beyond the recommendation requirements too.

I hope this issue is addressed.

  • The recent update released (12/9) has NOT fixed this issue.

I figured it would since they mentioned "frame drops', but no.

I guess for now I'll keep preventing from playing these maps. Oh well.

  • I have excatly the same problem. I have: I7-2600K@4,5GHz HD7870 OC Edition 8 GB Ram Win 8.1 I have constantly 60 FPS, but at specific places on farious maps, the framrate drops to 30 fps and lower.
  • Mmm... this issue still persists for me even after this new recent update. At this point I doubt this issue will be resolved, but oh well.

So long as I just stay in one half of the map I'll be fine, at least only for Altai. Guilin remains unplayable.
