Massive stuttering / frame skipping when looking towards sunlight.

I would like to know if anyone had this issue, and if theres a solution after all.

Game runs smoothly until I see sunlight in na open area, then it starts a serie of microfreezing effects while moving around the mouse, like the game was  skipping the frames.

The interesting is that FPS counter stays above 100fps during the hiccups, that lasts sometimes 3 or 5 secs, or maybe even more.

Tried everything: in game graphic options, nvidia settings, BF1 console settings, screen resolution, but the annoying sttuters remain, always related to the sunlight...

I repeat: the issue happens only when looking in direction of sunlight.

Specs: GTX 1080, I7 7700, 8gb ram.

Appreciate your help.

What OS are you using, if it's Win10 are you using DX11 or DX12? Have you turned off Origin in game, and if so have you done it both under the origin application settings and under BF1's game settings in Origin?

Win 10. DX11. Origin in game turned off,  both in BF1 settings and in origin  global settings.

Updated the drivers also, but nothing changed.

Stil ltrying to find out the cause of this frame skipping.

Thanks for your attention guys, anyway.

@TopDriver1981 I see that you are using an NVIDIA card. I've heard people complaining about frame rate issue due to shadow play. Have you tried disabling shadow play to see if it clears the problem? Other software that might have similar detrimental effects are MSI afterburner, razer cortex, and the Xbox DVR in WIn10.

  • I'm on Xbox one and I can't go 3-5 minutes without those orange symbols popping up, and when they pop up they stay there the entire match. This was never a problem until about 2 days ago.
