Mic not working in BF1 VOIP? Help?

I have tried 3 different headsets. With all 3 the mic works in windows but no one can hear me in BF1. I can sometimes hear others in game using their VOIP. It is enabled in the BF1 settings, while I don't use the default key, I have tried it on different keys E, J, Right Control, "." or any other key, just doesn't work. I have googled the issue and found some people saying I have to enable it in Origin settings, the problem is, there is no setting in my Origin client to enable mic. It just doesn't mention the mic at all. Im using windows 10. The mic privacy settings are set to "on".

Anyone else have this issue? how is it resolved? Playing is much more fun when I can communicate to my squad.

Thanks

  • Yes that makes sense. Good to know, I just have 1 headset now so I should be good to go. Thanks for your help.

  • Hey there @Flagg_4077, What microphone have you tried with, and do they have any software connected to them, have you tried using default Battlefield 1 settings?

Are you using any virtual cable setup for your audio device?

  • Ive used Corsair HS70 Pro, HyperX Stinger Core wireless, Steelseries Arctis 1 and 7. They have software but none is needed for the mic to work. I test them in windows and they all test fine. In game I have VOIP enabled and have changed the keys around to try and find one that works. Every now and then it works, as I can see the little speaker next to my name in the squad when I push to talk, but 90% of the time it does not. I realize that alot of people dont use VOIP in BF1 or just dont have mics, but most of the time I dont even see the little speaker next to my name when Im trying to talk. Its very frustrating, the game can be much more fun when the squad is on the same page.

  • Yes that was one of the first things I've tried. I seem to have gotten it working in most games now, so at least it works intermittently, so in about 70% of my games now. I'm not sure if it was the repair tool I used or if the headset has to be active when I load the game. It seems when I would swap headsets mid game it would never work. Also all my headsets are wireless so I don't know if that has anything to do with anything but at this point I'm happy enough with it working most of the time. Sadly its fairly rare that anyone uses their mic anyway so I'm usually talking to myself.

Could be that the game losses accesses to your mic when swapping as its wireless. @Flagg_4077
