missiles don't work on helicopters
OK, so in BF4 I fire a stinger missile at a helictoper and it doesn't work. I know this is the ECM jammer, but when I can lock on the missile seems to just swerve away from the helicopter at the last...
It sounds like when you are unable to lock on, or when the missile misses, it is because the pilot has deployed their counter-measures (flares, smoke or ECM)
