Missing expansions BF4 for PS4 disc version

Need some help here please.  So, I just bought the standard disc version(PS4) of battlefield 4 , and I’m playing it on my ps5.  I then wanted to get premium, so I bought it from EA, and installed it ( as an add on).  Then I went and downloaded and installed all 8 dlc packs (China rising, night expansions etc....).  However, when I go to quick match in multiplayer, and try to play one of the premium modes, I get an error that tells me “ missing expansions:  you are missing the following expansions in order to join this server.  And it lists the main 5 dlc’s ( which show that they have already been installed).  I click the triangle button ( get expansions) and it tells me “ there is no content.  It might not be for sale yet, or may no longer be for sale”. Help me resolve this please.  Should be an easy fix, since I paid for the premium. Thankyou.

  • Thankyou for your response.  Here’s what I ended up doing.  Since I bought premium off the ps store, I just realized that I basically purchased the whole game.  So, I just deleted the disc version download on my system, and installed solely the digital version.  It downloaded the base game, premium, and all the dlc.  Now it works.  So, I have a BF4 disc version I need to get rid of.  Thanks for reaching out though, and I’ll see you around the lobbies!

Thankyou for the help.  It unfortunately didn’t work.  I’m sure this has to of happened to someone else.  There must be a solution.  I wonder if it has anything to do with me playing the PS4 game on ps5.  It shouldn’t since they are backward compatible.  Anyway, thanks for the advice.

    Hi @LeoLionRoar1983 ,

I can confirm to you that BF4 Premium works perfectly fine on the PS5, as migrated myself to this some weeks back from PS4.

Regarding your access to the DLC maps then I recall this being a frequent problem in the old days also, particular for the players that had bought and installed the BF4 baseline version and then later acquired the Premium edition.   I checked your online profile so can confirm that the system does recognize you having the full Premium grade, so that thing is in order on the EA server side.  So it therefore most probably is related to the license management on your PS5 that has not yet eradicated the BF4 baseline license to replace it with the higher grade Premium.

So just asking, to ensure, though you may already have done this during your installs:  Have you already made a total cold reboot of your PS5 since you made the Premium upgrade and downloading of all the DLC maps?  It can otherwise by default just fall back into the hibernation mode, which doesnt reinitialize your license levels as the ones read at last cold boot will be hanging in the cached system memory.

You can also force a refresh of your user license codes by doing the following steps:

    • Open Settings
    • Choose PlayStation Network/Account Management.
    • Choose Restore Licenses
    • Choose Restore
    • Now cold reboot your PS5 and start the game and test to see if works.

If still not working, then next thing to try is to first deactivate and then reactivate your new PS5 as your Primary PlayStation!

If you have your old PS4 around, then that is often blocking the PS5 to be recognized as a new primary account holder.  And the Premium BF4 game license can only be active on one PlayStation at a time, so this is the way to solve that problem.

    Best of luck with it!

Sorry that I wasn't able to be of any help. I don't play on consoles so I don't know its settings or anything. But I'm glad that you fixed your problem 🙂

    Great news @LeoLionRoar1983 ,

Yes you wrote that you had bought the Premium add-on, which was why you needed to go through the license upgrade that I referred to for your PS4/BF4 user profile on PlayStation.  As you bought the full Premium then of course it also works to fully remove the old baseline version and then just install all the full Premium on its own instead of upgrading.  Your soldier XP and awards will all remain intact in any case, as all its data records are hosted remote by EA.

Seeing you around on the DLC maps for some epic gaming!   👍

@LeoLionRoar1983 I've marked the above as the solution, since that seems to have sorted out the problem, hope that's OK.
