Monte Grappa Bunkers

Nearly every single round these bunkers cause a serious issue. More often then not the Hungarian side just rush B and hold it for the entire round. My suggestion to fix this is to simply have a hole where the turret is when destroyed. That way players could drop in or lob a few explosives inside to clear it out and discourage camping.

Thank you @Encapsulations for your feedback on this. This bunker does gives some players a headache. Most successful tactics to take that bunker involve a great deal of team efforts, but it is not impossible.

  • I don't think this is an issue of it being impossible, it's an issue of it being absurdly unreasonable. Perhaps a highly cohesive squad of veteran players can pull it off, but when you have a 5 to 10 enemies with a sentry camping the bunker there's little to nothing a group of randoms can do. Cohesive squads are by far the rare exception, not the norm. By and large it's hard enough to convince people to do a mediocre job at reviving or dropping ammo, let alone storm a bunker with any rhyme or reason.  No one wants to throw themselves at the problem and die repeatedly so most just quit and go do something else. In my experience it never ends with a successful clearing, but rather everyone gives up and eventually the people inside get bored and leave. It's poorly designed, and what's worse, it's just not fun. I genuinely don't enjoy this map, so I think I'll just forgo it until someone decides it needs improvement.

lol are you serious? Stop whining!! I have played this map so many times!! If your team are quick enough it all comes down to the bunkers in the map, if not, your team will lose! This map rock!!

  • What you just said is the entire problem with the map design. The round shouldn't be decided within the first few minutes, and the flow of battle shouldn't revolve around 1 specific point on a large map.

  • While there might not be a map change for bunkers coming soon, the tactic I have found most effective so far is to have some supports hang outside the bunker refilling ammo for their team, and using the FRG Crossbow down the entrances, which tends to soften/kill the camping players inside. (Medics with Rifle FRG works too). Hope this helps next time you get stuck.
